oh yay i finally bought the coffee kiosk and even used diamonds to speed it up. to my dismay i totally forgot the coffee bush will take 1 day to be ready for harvesting :( i also don't see any coffee beans on sale! are they that rare? how often do you see those at the shop anyway?
I see them every 2 days.. In my stall... As I am selling them.. Heh. Seriously though, I see them in the papers often enough.

Of course if its the item being advertised you dont see that ad if you havent unlocked that item yet. You will only see them when they are in a shop of your friends or if they advertise something else you could buy at that point. So you don't see ads for stuff you cant buy.Quote:

And having a secondary farm fixes the shortage of white sugar problem. As I constantly make plenty of white sugars on my helper farm. When my main run out of white sugar, I then transfer all the white sugar produced on my helper farm.Quote:

What do you mean by secondary farm? I made my wife to start the game, and helped her to get Turbo Trucker 3 while she's at level 12. She shares some sugar with me, but soon she'll need it all for herself. So, how do you make a sustainable secondary farm? Both of my account are at the same level. You do need another idevice to have a second farm, if don't have one, then it's up to you whether you need one or not but personally I wouldn't buy a second idevice just for hay day.
What I also do is that on my helper account when I do wheating, I get a lot of planks, while my main farm gets no planks (very rare on my main), so it's a trade off for me so that when I need to upgrade my barn on my main, then I do a lot of wheating on my helper farm. I can get about 10 planks a day from wheating on my helpers farm.

i find myself struggling with the helper farm becoz its hard to juggle with two farms with both having the need to level up. its always the dilemma of helping the main farm vs helping itself because leveling up the helper is equally important as i dont have many machines/items unlocked yet. plus whichever expansion item the helper farm gets, i tend to give it to the main farm so the helper one keeps having only just 100 barn/silo space lol. its quite a challenge having to harvest/collect stuff without having the barn/silo getting full. decisions decisions...
Yes it can be challenging to have both farms, but here is what I do on my main farm. When I first get on. I harvest all the crops that are ready. I harvest all the production completed. I harvest all the animals (except sheep and goat as I only do them when i need them or if I run out of wool). I do the boats. I put in new orders.Quote:

Thanks MarySC and KwonChu for detailed answers. After all, it seems that every more or less advanced player has a secondary farm! Well, i do so as well. Recently my wife got her iPhone (3 generations newer than mine, but it doesn't matter), and, as she doesn't know what hay day is, I use her device to support me with sugar and milk-based goods.
As my main barn and silo require 30 of every items to get their next upgrades, I have temporary redirected the flow of exp. materials to my secondary farm. I found soon enough that I DO NEED SPACE to store all that sugar and cream. it's a good point to think about need of boat, fishing boat and mine there.
I also managed to find a friend here, at this forum, who had generously agreed to sell me her dairy and sugar mill produce, as well as some exp.items. I give her for free exp.items she needs most as well. So, I say, i have two secondary farms. What I really need now is to understand, how to manage this infrastructure :)

agree! but when there are times that you need extra stuff for a boat and your production slots are full, or when you need more expansion items, you'll realize the importance of a secondary farm. also you get to use tom for free all over again for 3 days lol. i dont think you can give attention to both farms equally, at least for me i cant, and i really hated having to start all over again and do truck orders for nothing but pancakes and cornbread. so for the 2nd farm, progress is really slow and i only play it a little while. it does not have friends, nor boat, nor mine, so its quite easy to manage.Quote:

As for needing a second farm . . . it's an interesting idea, but I have my hands full just running one farm. Besides, Clash of Clans needs some love too!
I manage my sugar/dairy items by being very selective on whether I use them for trucks/other people's boats. If it looks like I can make a difference and help someone with a critical boat order, I'll consider doing it, otherwise, I save my sugar/dairy items for my own boats. I have not missed a boat order in months. You just need to queue up fast-turnaround items when you are playing and queue up long-turnaround items when you are at work or away from the game.
That said, it would be hillarious fun to have a second farm fueling my first one. Then again, if I put my mind to it, I can get 50-60k experience in one day, aggressively wheating/buying/trucking/boating. To each their own my friends.
wheating sometimes cannot get me the expansion items i want. saws just kept dropping recently they've became a major annoyance. had to grow other crops too. but thats beside the point. having a secondary farm also mean double the machines. sugar is required in large quantites when you make coffee so having a second farm is like having a second sugar mill. i just keep the second one making brown sugar only so i can make syrup and white sugar with the other. its a challenge to juggle between two farms but i probably play the second farm for 15 mins each day so it doesnt pose much problem.Quote:

I always keep a base amount of items that take a long time to make, like jams. If a boat order brings me low, I build that item exclusively. Sometimes that means having to bypass a truck order or the opportunity to help someone else. I always try to keep at least 10 of each jam.
