Yeah, I would rather have atleast a chance of winning the defense than just some TH8 or TH9 just winging it and attacking me with troops my defenses can't kill.
In addition to the loot penalty which completely kills the incentive of higher level players you can also just throw your TH in a corner and collect the free shield.
You can even be a real knob and try and protect the TH in the corner with teslas and traps - if your loot is good enough I will tank with a couple giants then blow through your TH on my way to flattening your base.
Big fish eat little fish... thats the game.
No, 10x NO's
every single player who has ever advanced beyond TH7 has dealt with exactly the same mechanics as they are now. All those TH10s out there seem to have made it through it without any trouble, so you should be able to do the same.
what you are suggesting would literally break the economy, and the game. Again, ten NO's!!
Hmm, I think I did not have any trouble when I was TH 7 maybe because I didn't care much about loot that had been stolen. I just go out and loot more. I think overall it is OK, as in the sea there should be sharks that eat small fishes to continue the balance of the world.
This could not be farther from the truth. The original players did not have to deal with this and anyone willing to pay to win does not have to deal with this. There is a huge imbalance. You can agree or disagree but that is a FACT.
Everyone would benefit from having a system that actually had a point value system for everything in your base. This is the formula ALL of the best multiplayer games use in order to balance. The only balancing happening in Clash of Clans comes from what league you are in, leaving it wide open for exploit.
No offense but if you disagree with this point then you fall into two catagories. Either A you don't have the experience to have a valid opinion or you are arguing to keep the game imbalanced. I am about to upgrade my town hall to 10 so I am not at the bottom by any means but I have no desire to be part of the problem by attacking people that have no chance of defending themselves. The only reason I unnaturally influenced my trophies was to get away from this. Unfortunately there are just as many if not more people taking advantage, the farther down the ranks you go.
Buying gems should never be required to play the game. They should be a way of helping you achieve a higher rank maybe or save yourself maybe but the moment that the gems are required on a free to play game like this is the moment that game has become unbalanced.
Thing is, the players don't even go for the Town Hall, and I am farming and planning to upgrade to TH8 by late November. What makes it really hard to get more loot is you have the fear of people raiding you with PEKKAs and Golems that you know your defenses can't kill. I might also add that the loot penalty is basically a myth for TH8s, because they get more of my loot than TH7s do. A TH7 raided me today, took 1200 DE, a TH8 raided me yesterday (I had almost exact amount of loot) and took 1400 DE.
A big fat LOL to your comment here. It could be excused though..as maybe you don't know what sort of loot rules were present that time.
This was in fact a major difficulty for initial adopters of this game. During that time, there was no loot penalty for higher TH players to attack the lower ones. Instead, more loot was made available for lower guys attacking people above their townhall levels. This allowed lower guys to farm higher TH guys easily. 500 to 600k gold and elixir each kind of loots were very common during that time. And in a pool of few thousand players, it was very difficult to recover such kind of loss. The loot system currently is a major improvement over what it used to be earlier.
Coming on to your claims and beliefs, most TH9 or 10 farming in gold or silver leagues are there just for one reason.. to farm inactive & abandoned bases. They are not there for stomping TH8. If they start using expensive troops to attack, they would not recover the cost of troops or the gold lost in nexts.
Contrary to your belief, the search mechanism is not completely tied to the league only. It also tries to match with the TH levels in same range;i.e; either same or (+/-) 1. In some rare cases only it goes to (+/-) 2 and beyond that is ultra rare. For eg., I don't remember seeing TH7 in my searches since the matchmaking mechanism has been updated.
no that is not a fact. The "original players" did not have some immunity shield that prevented others players from raiding them. The only people who avoid it are those that spend $100s or more on gems. FYI, there is your solution if you want it.
This is called "war" in clash of clans. You're free to join a clan and participate if you wish.Quote:

Ok I can tell I was to vague. I did not mean that the original players did not have their own stuff to deal with but the stuff they had to deal with was not this.
You guys need to go start a new clan and see what it is like. I am about to hit max town hall level and I don't support this. I have a lot of friends that play and many of them are voicing the same complaints.
This is not what balance looks like. This is what real war looks like. Money wins.
Those that find that fun are sick in the head.
