The Best Farming Design -Help-

Hi guys I am farming at 1300 trophies with a level 8 TH, and I can't seem to find the perfect farming design.

I know the most common farming design is to surround your storages with walls, plus mortars and air defences in the middle, but those are useless as nowadays people use like 35 wallbreakers.

So does anyone have a great, awesome farming design for a lvl 8 TH that minimises chances of losing gold/elixir?

And with all the 3 storages inside.

There you go. It finally worked. I forgot about the third elix storage btw. D:

and this is not my defense. I got it from Bengan. He got it from daddy, daddy made the defense, so credits go to him.

h cool design, but don't you think that if goblins are spammed in you're dead? Just a thought... My design's alright, but I always lose like 90k gold/elixir.

Dude, this defense is immune to wallbreakers. If the goblins try to break in to the core, they will have 3 mortars pounding them. And before that, they will have to deal with the outside defense. I only lose 1k-2k each attack ._. That's why I have about 900k each :D

The only real problem is that Im gonna upgrade to 3 lvl 11 storages, but this design doesn't allow me to have enough space, thats why I'm looking for a new design :)

First, there's an entire thread for base designs, you should be reading that versus starting this one, since a "farming" layout is merely a design.

And, second, the problem with your setup is that you can easily deploy wall breakers too close to your outer perimeter. Level 5 wallbreakers will down those walls too easily, stents and all. And, it's great that you have air defense in the middle, but the majority of people that will attack your base will not use dragons. The lack of wizards near your stores will be your downfall as the mortars' blind spots won't do enough splash damage to well deployed troops before they take your gold and elixir. Really, wizards should be much closer and you should be forcing people to deploy troops much further out.

Last, and most importantly, there is no PERFECT layout - it takes trial, error and analysis to fine tune a base. If there was a perfect design, posting it here would probably do more harm than good.

Rndy- Not to burst your bubble, and nor am I being pessimistic, but nothing is immune to an Attacker who wants in. In your case, level 5 walls aren't that hard to break. I carry an average of 20 Level 5 wall breakers on me at all times. Taking down 1 side of your base, popping one of those stents and sending in a horde of goblins is easier than you think. You probably haven't been attacked by the right person yet, but when it happens, you'll see how to reorganize. For now, upgrading your walls should be a priority.

Nah, it's okay, I am used to criticism. Thanks for your advice, I am trying to get my walls to level 6, because I made a dumb mistake in no maxing everything before upgrading th. Other wise, I would have all level 6 walls, and have started work on level 7 ones. It is my priority to upgrade walls. Thanks for the advice :)

Dont know what happened, I can't upload my base. I swapped the air defense and that lil gold storage out for the wiz towers.

No problem man, just trying to help. I've farmed very similar bases, sometimes it's good to keep some defenses on the outside, sometimes it is not - you have to find what works for you. The good news is, there's plenty of gold to be had so you can easily upgrade those walls in no time.

Also, using this website to upload pics isn't very good, as their size restrictions are very strict. It's best to share links using dropbox, imgur, etc - they're free and ez to use. I found your clan "HIS STORY", so I see what you moved - looks much better. My additional advice, move the one mortar out that you're upgrading and swap it with your most upgraded air defense right in the middle - that should have you covered nicely.

To be fair I got the idea for the spiky base from a post of someone else's posted on the best base design thread so I really can't take credit - but it's great to see the community taking good ideas and modifying them - that's real value!

I thought your base was great, and it works fine for me, so I just keep showing them this and give the credit to you :)

Here is my base of similar level. It's held up pretty well, but 25 level 5 wall breakers will get thru it.

I pulled my Teslas to the side since I don't need everyone to know where they go. I move them a lot based on what's being upgraded and where I'm at in the game

For the gem police, I didn't use gems to buy black walls but have used for extra builder, troop boosts, and shortening upgrade times.

Here's mine. No ones touched my storage a in a week.

Wallbreakers will have troubles with the buffer walls. Archers can't shoot over that many laters of walls. Most other troops will be dealt with by splash damage. Comments? I like critics so go ahead.

You have a level 4 townhall and wood walls coupled with a few level 2 walls. I think you are on the right track for a layout but your gold storage is on the outside edge wall. Typically for a farming layout, most would put the townhall on the outside of the walls to score a free shield.

You wont need that right now as it looks like someone just hit your base... Im not kidding.

It definitely looks solid, but what if someone uses wallbreakers? Oh yeah why are your Teslas outside?

The reason why I started this thread apart from base design contests is because I want more specific responses. In the other thread there are like level 6 TH's too.

Anyway guys I just saw this guy, what do you think of his base? Looks solid.

The ironical thing is that I did a complete destruction on him with 30 balloons :D (No air def.)

hey if you can send me yout email I could send you a folder of multiple different base set ups for TH8 I took from all over these forums lol i weeded out the ones I didn't like and looked too simple for the better more advance complicated ones majority of them are all farming just some protect townhall too and some dont

Wow Yelax this is really risky - the mortar is the best defence against goblins. You should really put it inside your base.

Wall breakers hit the outside walls :) not the base walls. But if you roll in with 25 level 5 wall breakers you can bust a 4 segment wall a then send within. But most folks won't go that route just the smart ones.

Tesla were moved to outside because I don't really tell folks were they are hidden and I move them a lot. That said you can look there are about. 6-7 good locations for those.

Here's the thing guys, most of these bases contain air defenses on the outside, or very weak air defenses, which is extremely risky. Yeah, you're going to defend against most normal attacks when people are hopping around from base to base with their standard armies; however, it's the people that you give an opportunity to revenge that you need to worry about.

When I was dropping trophies, I can't tell you how many people dropped a goblin on me with a triple wall base with both level 1 or 2 air defense on the outside. So, what did I do? I waited until their gold stores were nice and full, maybe their mines too, scouted their CC to check for troops so I knew how to handle it in advance, then sent in my army to first destroy both air defenses and ultimately unleash some dragons to do the rest.

So, if you really want to improve, in my personal opinion you need to:

1) Incorporate air defenses as you would mortars - centralized and protected.
2) Use wall stents and prevent wall breakers from having a clear path to walls.
3) Centralize your CC and make sure it's stocked with archers.
4) Separate your gold and elixir stores, ideally 3 areas is best.

Just my 2 cents. But hey, if everyone did this there wouldn't be so much ez loot to grab :)

Yep, He is right about this. Need to decide who your primary attackers are going to be. And lets be honest, if we are farming and raiding folks they are going to get ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off and do whatever they can to get a big revenge. My layout puts air defense in a overlapping attack zone nested behind the first wall. Typically folks will send in giants or archers first for this. Mortars handle this pretty well. I have not had both get hit at any one particular raid even with level 2 AD. The worse attack I had was 7 Level 3 Dragons and it hit me for 2 stars. My Teslas ended the dragons finally, but I did lose one air defense. I lost 180,000 Gold/& elixr which sucked but had hit the guy for over 250, so it washed. He spent more than he won on the dragon build. Also if I am being honest all around, I had 4 defensive structures in upgrade at the time too. So i didnt feel bad about it in the end. If centralized, even crappy air defense will take out a max dragon.

Now most of your typical attackers are going to be hoards of Archer, giants, barbs and goblins. Most of these layouts OK with it. If you have to expose anything, pick one of your elixir collectors. That stuff is everywhere and I usually can spend it all, I stay full as most farmers do.

My belief is that there is no 100% perfect base layout. Every time you get raided, figure out how you could have stopped it without deterring other defenses. My layout was originally based off of a design I liked on Pedro's build thread. I modified it to fit my tastes and I bet I have changed it 10 or more times with little tweaks based on defense success or failures. I would suggest you pick a core layout that you like and see how it works for you. Adjust from there

Problem if someone uses dragons against you I think. They will take out air defence with archers and then you are in trouble. Suggest putting at least one air defence in the middle.

Haha yeh I actually got attacked by 3 of the damn things recently... They only took out 1 storage. Mainly because the dragon ai makes them target the closest thing. And what the dragons did was go around my base before heading to the centre. My archer towers were shooting them, along with teslas and wiz towers.

Which is better ? Wizard towers or mortars to be put inside walls with storages regarding the farming base design? I've put 2 wiz , 2 mortars , 1 air def and 4 storages and 3 layered walls but all of them got destroyed with just 8 wb . So im thinking of making the base smaller by getting rid of either the wiz or mortars . I'm TH 7 with mostly lvl 6 walls . Thanks in advance .

Have huge spikes go back to page 3 I think. I posted a pic of my base with huge spikes. Wall breakers never touch my last layers.

Will it still be effective if i make my walls 2 layered but with spikes as long as yours? Don't have enough walls to make spikes and 3 layers with mortars/wiz inside...
