Sticky to explain WHY items were ruled out.

I can imagine the storm of forum posts they would receive if they EVER reversed one of their decisions to rule out any popular requests. These ruled out items are posted because they are wanted by a very large number of players.

They may simply not want to engage that storm of players (reasonable or otherwise) and defend their position.

I can only hope/assume that they were aware of the attack vector I described in my earlier posts - weighed the pros and cons and decided that the issue would never be big enough to require them to reconsider.

From my perspective I can only hope the issue becomes visible enough to get someone their to rethink the matter.

Its obviously in high demand to have made the list in the first place.

While I do understand why its needed in your case, but dont you know who your good elders are? You could demote everyone but them.
Also, if the above doesnt work, i would contact support.

Of course...I have done all of the things you mention.

Understand that 15 to 20 percent of my clan is new every week.... with all of them demanding how to "earn" elder.

Just try and run a clan without giving Elder away these days... it can be done but the amount of turn over from kids that want their cookie (Elder) would be extreme. There is no amount of time that will ever give anyone perfect trust in all their Elders... and someone that is worthy of trust today can always change over time. Its naive to think otherwise.

We have identified the planted account and booted that person... but the problem remains as our troll returns every couple of days.

Please also note that Supercell will not get involved in these matters - so to all you trolls out there you have no worries of any repercussions.

It's basically very simple to maintain. kids that join and want their cookie and demand it.
get the boot those that really want the cookie will stay and earn it.

been in an 18+ clan for over a year now, and we see liars and adult children come and go. but none of the elders has been with us shorter then 1-2months.

elders have rights and powers, which they should earn. not get for granted.

Yep, its all so simple till you get a troll... see how black and white it is for you then. :)

I am also running an all ages, lower level clan (its a very different world down here).

I may eliminate Elder entirely but that seems like hitting a fly with a sledge.

Yet it was easy to spot them, since they werent elders, i've had/seen a kicking spree in our clan.
there joined over 15 new members within a day and there were more then 1 trollers.
even a "smart" one, tried to keep quiet and start a few days later.

we easily isolated the guy and he got the boot. yet the problem you describe of people inviting trollers is easily solved.

Demote ALL elders, and let them earn it. you will lose people
but those arent the people you want in the clan anyways.

just send out a clanmail then demote all elders. if that solves it you know you can promote one or two people to elder at a time and see how it turns out.

no need to eliminate but just to reboot your elder rank :)

lol... or they could simply show who invited the trolling player and instantly solve the problem without having to demote anyone or lose any players (other than the guilty parties).

Clash of clans is a dictatorship (I know there are those out there that think thats a dirty word but it JUST is). Let leaders run their clans - presumably coleader and elder are handed out because they are earned by trust worthy and like minded people.

Our clan is dealing with the attack vector that not having this feature in place has opened... I would be happy for any reasonable solution to it (does not have to be this one). I consider the prevention of Harassment, Stalking and Abuse to trump the above reason for not implementing this suggestion.

And because I think most reasonable people would agree - I have doubts that the above explanation is truly the reason why they would rule this out.

lol you answered your own question...CoC IS a dictatorship. SUPERCELL is the dictator. They don't need a reason to rule things out.

But if you want a reason, business interest. They have limited resources, and can only work on so many things at a time, so they have to decide which things will most improve the game, and/or increase their revenue the most relative to the cost of development and upkeep. Also understand that the ruled out list is "for the time being". Things that have been ruled out at one time have eventually made it into the game (for example protecting storages from lightning, which I don't think they should have done, but is beside the point.)


Your problem, btw, is a clan management problem. Raise your qualifications both for new members and elders and you won't have this problem.

Im pretty sure that some of the ruled out ideas have made it into the game. Like the nerf to zapping. I think that "ruled out" means that supercell is aware of the idea and isnt going to be implimenting it at this time, for whatever reason. It is their way of saying: "Stop spamming the forums with threads about this idea or we will delete them." The reason it is ruled out is simply because supercell said it was. There doesnt need to be any more reason than that. Their forum, their game, their rules.
