Sticky to explain WHY items were ruled out.

I know there are posts on the forums that explain why many of the ruled out ideas were ruled out.

At the moment I cant seem to find one of these pages. I think it would be great to have a Sticky that explains these decisions a bit more clearly.

At the moment our clan is being Stalked and Harassed by a player that has planted an account in our clan and obtained Elder so that he can invite his trolling ID in at any time.

Now I can obviously demote everyone in my clan to shut him out but it would be so much easier if we just knew which account was inviting him - unfortunately this idea is ruled out and I cant imagine why this would be hard to implement or open to abuse.

Its obviously in high demand to have made the list in the first place.

Thanks very much Radiating... I would really like to see as many of these posts as people know of.

From reading that post I dont see anywhere that these are official answers from supercell. There is no indication of the source so the answers could be correct reasons... or they just could be idle speculation.

For example here is the reason given for my situation described in my earlier post:

*Modify clan msg of player joining with who invited player: xx joined clan, invited by xx
This could create some nasty clan drama. You invite a low lvl, co leader don't want low lvl said so they kick them, fight may occur.

With all due respect to the person that provided that explanation - it smells pretty lame. Clash of clans is a dictatorship (I know there are those out there that think thats a dirty word but it JUST is). Let leaders run their clans - presumably coleader and elder are handed out because they are earned by trust worthy and like minded people.

Our clan is dealing with the attack vector that not having this feature in place has opened... I would be happy for any reasonable solution to it (does not have to be this one). I consider the prevention of Harassment, Stalking and Abuse to trump the above reason for not implementing this suggestion.

And because I think most reasonable people would agree - I have doubts that the above explanation is truly the reason why they would rule this out.

Actually... gotta disagree... Semi-credible? If its just wrong it does not provide anything other than a guess from "someguy" . (just saying)

The author of that is a seasoned veteran of the forums, and I'd think that he based his ideals on other theories.

Well why not demote people and then slowly build back up?

Exactly what I am doing... but you have to understand the kind of person I am dealing with.

Mid Twenties Male who feels a strong yearning to be in our group (even though everyone he thinks of as a close friend has explicitly told him to go away). This is not a 12 year old with a 20 minute attention span.

This guy will happily wait with a Member id in the clan and be nice and helpful until we trust him to become Elder at some point his original trolling ID will show up again and we will be back to trying to figure out what the planted ID is.

I would be quite content to run my clan with only 2 or 3 coleaders and zero Elders unfortunately kids want their cookie (that 5 letters beside their name). It will always be an issue.

And before someone else suggests it... Sure I could change the name of my clan and boot every player and start again - But in addition to being highly annoying and being sucked in to playing the stalkers game... its really not what I am trying to accomplish here.

Supercell needs to put the control back in the hands of the Clan leader.

So before this thread gets too far off topic.

I am suggesting that an official link to explanations (from Supercell) to provide more insight into WHY ideas were ruled out.

And if anyone wants to point me to similar threads the attempt to explain these reasons.. that would be much appreciated.

Yeah, theres already enough clan drama as is lol.

As far as I know, there has never been an official statement from SC explaining the items on the ruled out list. (Someone please correct me if I am incorrect)

Some of ruled out ideas can be figured out by using common sense, others we can only come up with speculation as to why they are ruled out.
