Cauldron disappear for no reason

First, i'd like to start off by saying I don't share my account nor do I have kids. The only person who lives with me - my wife - is completely not interested in mobile games. I'm not drunk either.

I got a cauldron a couple of days ago, it didn't spawn exactly on the edge so i had move one of my decoration pieces to somewhere else. This morning when i woke up, it was still there, so i collected the resources, chatted a bit with clanmates, and logged off. When I logged back in a few mins later, the cauldron was gone, and left with an empty 2x2 spot.

I dont know if it has anything to do with IOS, as i have the game on both android and IOS, but I didn't log in to it on my android phone this morning.

I suspect that there's some sort of bug on the IOS version. Has anyone had similar experiences?

I have not experienced this yet.

Is there a possibility you removed it by accident? If not, I'd recommend you report this issue to Supercell in-game so they can look into and see whether it is a bug or not.

no im pretty sure I didn't, thanks for the suggestion BFMatteus, i'll try the in-game support.

honestly i dont really expect them to give it back to me but I'm more worried about it happening again if i get another one.

I doubt support will be able to help you with this, probably its a human error on your side. Might have removed it without noticing it. (Ive done it in the past)

Mine moved from edge on bot to 1/2 edge on top... Builders have all been busy so no human error and its not shared account. Its my mini so i didnt report it but i can confirm odd things happen.

Hmm ill take a wild guess and say they you first visited your mini with you main and you saw the cauldron in a spot and when you loged in with the mini it was not where you first saw it. Am i right?

Like i said, I never expected them to help me to get it back. I know when it's gone, its gone for good. But I definitely don't want it to happen again. That's why I reported it in hopes of having it fixed in time if it is really a bug. No i did not remove it by accident.

Are you sure that no one else like your relatives or friends have access to your account/device ?

i understand that most people probably won't believe me, but yes i am sure. Being an IT, I'm always fully aware of the status of all my devices. Plus as I said, the only person who lives with me doesn't even bother to look at the game.

Not to mention that it was still there before I re logged back in. it happened right in front of my eyes.

Not to mention that 2 or 3 mins ago it had still been there.

Its not that we dont believe you, it just has never happened before and you are the only one who reported this issue so far so we find unlikely the obstacle disappeared by itself. Maybe you are right and theres actually something wrong with it.

I know u guys are trying to help. I'm just saying that I understand if someone don't believe what i said, as I myself was shocked too and couldn't believe my eyes for a minute.

Now my guess is, I could be wrong though, as I'm not a programmer, the algorithm that calculates when and how often the cauldrons spawn is done on the local devices, most likely it runs every time the base is loaded. Once a cauldron pops up, the local device sends the data to the server, so the status of your cauldrons on the server is sync'ed. Something has probably gone wrong with the data synchronization.

I know usually when that happens, the data on the local device should be overwritten by that on the server, so maybe the appearance of my cauldron was never updated on the server.

Since technical support is looking into the matter, all we can do is wait, they'll most likely be able to see whether it was a glitch or not.

I marked the question in the game as answered, i know that's all they can do at the moment.

if they can't find anything and i happen to get another one, i'll log into the game on android, and if it's confirmed to be there, i'll wipe coc on my ipad and reinstall it, just in case there're corrupted files on my ipad.

I actually had a similar situation :p

My friend says to me "2 cauldrons? So lucky"
He shows me my base, I see the cauldron I already had, and another new one on the southeastern side
I go home, check my base, and I see the new cauldron next to my old cauldron :p

This happens when you visit a base with another account but when you log in with it the obstacles are in different position

Hadn't heard of it before. Is it a known issue? does it happen to all types of obstacles?

I dont know if its a known issue. I dont even know if it can be called "issue". Ive tested it with my mini few times, all of them was with a gem box. When i visited my mini i saw a gem box in one spot but when i logged in, it was somewhere else.

I have noticed obstacles move before, but only once. Why I remember? It was the 2014 Headstones. received one near the edge, next morning it was gone from the spot and moved to the other side and much closer to my base, had to remove it once I hit th10. If it would have stayed on the edge I could have had 4 headstones and 4 Christmas trees. cant stress it enough that it was not human error

The problem with issues or incidents like these is they are hard to prove, unless you take a screenshot before it happens, then another after, but even then it will be commonly believed that there are two of those obstacles and one of them has been removed - or in my case - accidentally removed by the user.

so really, if the tech team can find out anything, great, if not, there's no way to prove that the issue actually exists.
