That should be reason enough to put the controls in-app. Always strive for the best! (And please take this request/complaint in that context: to continue improving the quality of the app.) The system controls to disable notifications should be a last resort of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥-off user that wasn't given the control in the first place.

I have to disable All notifications for every app via Android Settings . I have other apps I want a beep, but not CoC because it us too frequent and sometimes in the middle of the night.
CoC is by no means the only app guilty of this, it just seems more responsive to requests.

Because I have apps that I want beep notifications.
If I go via Android settings I have to disable for every app I have.
CoC has more notifications than most apps (hence why selecting which notifications beep would be preferable)
Not picking on CoC. Other apps do this too, but CoC is more open to discussing it.
It's a suggested improvement rather than an absolute criticism.

System settings (again, which should be a last resort) allow you to turn them off for each application. Which is great, if that's what you want to do. The app should be the one giving control of this, and should be including more detailed settings, such as keeping notifications on, but turning off sound (which is my personal wish).

The current notification way is good
