Ways to help clans better identify potential hoppers

Let me start by saying this is my first thread. It's intended for people to have a nice discussion and help each other form ideas for Supercell to help clans, who want loyal members, to indentify hoppers without having to treat everyone like hopper for a while after they have joined. Let's keep things light and encouraging here and let's put our heads together to try to make a change.

I've been the leader of my own clan for a while now and I'm getting really sick of hoppers. People coming in, requesting troops and then leaving or who say "I want to be in the next war" and when you put them in they leave. I know that there is no way to completely stop hoppers and I know that ultimately it up to the discretion of a clan and it's member who to accept into the clan and put in war, but I would like a way to better identify potential hoppers because right now I can't trust any new members who join my clan. I know there are people joining who aren't hoppers but since I have to treat them like hoppers they usually leave. So I have two ideas. One is to have somewhere in the profile page a number of clans a person has been a member of. I would trust someone a lot more if I could see that they have only been in 10 to 25 clans versus someone who has been in 75 to 100 clans. The second idea I have is to have a total number of troops received since someone began playing just like there is a total number of troops donated in the achievements section of a persons profile. Just like with the number of clans joined I would trust someone more if their total troops donated and received were similar versus someone who has a lot more received troops than donated troops. Again I know there is no way to stop hoppers, but having more information to look at will help clans have a better idea of who they can trust so that recruiting isn't so difficult and wars aren't ruined by people who say they want to be in war but leave once they are in one.

Solid idea. I would like it even more if it was a rolling history. So the stastics you propose would only be from the past 60 days. This would hive players a chance to 'correct' past behaviors.

1 problem... there are req n leave clans. some people hop around for req n leave clans. and they get free troops there without being asked to donate

I have no problem with hoppers. They play the game differently than I do, but that's their right. I'm not labeling them as bad. Just want to be clear.

With that said, a clan that wants loyal, non-hopping players does not want the kind of players who jump around req n leave clans. So the statistics will give an indication (just an indication, not concrete proof) if a player is a hopper or not. And then the clan has the right to decide if they want that player or not.

I view the publication of these statistics as a test of fit, not a condemnation of good vs. bad players. If they want to hop around in req n leave clans, more power to them. But then they aren't likely to be the kind of player a loyal war clan wants.

Well said Beastzilla. There is no perfect way to identify hoppers, but a better way for clans, who want loyal players, to have a better way to recognize people who hop is all I'm asking for. People can do what they want. If they want to hop that's fine, but a lot of clans want loyal members and it's tough to identify who is who a lot of times.

Right now, I think the best way to identify hoppers is this:

Make sure you make all memebers wait 1 week before allowing them into a war.

If we add this log like you want, then we can run into this problem

Now, I have ANOTHER clan which I didn't stay long in. Eventually, just because I joined a few clans that turned out to inacive, or racist, or some other third reason which made me left, it looks like I'm a hopper, and no clan will accept me.

I feel like this is a negative statistic which is unneeded and will likely course more harm than good.

Its really simple, you give people a wait time before their officially "part of the team", and you know what, if they don't like it and leave....well, news flash, they would've done that at some point anyway.

Our clan has a little bit of an interview process (and newbies cannot join in first war), and I will admit it has annoyed some people and they have left due to it, but I say that's great because I'd rather them leave right in the beginning than during a war.

I dont think its a negative statistic but its not an indicator if a player is trustful either since lots of players jump from clan to clan either to donate/get rid of troops or they join donating clans to receive troops. Just set some rules to your clan like in order to receive troops the players must donate a number of troops chosen by you and the rest of the clan. Never take to war a newcomer, always test him for few days.

I know it's not a perfect idea. That's where Supercell and this community come in to help iron out the wrinkles. As far as waiting a week to put people in war I usually don't put new people in for one or two wars. The problem I run into with that is that people who aren't hopper can't wait that long and leave. So I'm losing a potentially good, loyal player because I have to treat them like a hopper.
I joined and created this thread just to throw out an idea (and vent some frustration lol). It would be awsome if this community came up with a creative idea for this problem that Supercell actually added to the game whether that's this idea or something completely different. I just want a way to trust people without treating them like hoppers of a week or so first.
