Private messages between players

I think there should be a feature that allows you to privately message individual players in your clan, or outside of your clan. For example: if you want to message someone privately in your clan about something about another clan member you should be able to. Also it would be a better way to give out information. For example: we have a kik conversation for leaders in my clan. And you want to give a kik username without others knowing a quick private message would work perfectly for that.
For private messages outside of your clan. I think it would be a good idea to use for recruiting. For example: if you're in a global chat with someone, and you have a nice conversation with them and they suddenly lose connection, or not paying attention. A private message to the users profile would be a great method to use to get someone's attention. It should also work from one clan to another clan as well. For the same reasons.
To prevent from spamming, you can only send 1 message at a time and you wouldn't be able to send another message to that person until they reply.
I asked around my clan and they all agree this would be a great feature to the game.

I hope you guys consider this feature in the future, and I'd love to see it in a future update.

Great Idea

I started playing in the last few weeks and agree, many mmog's that i have played, that seem to bring clan members closer and allow players to get to know each other better, creating more loyalty and more commitment to the game, have private chat features...i think it would best be done with a follow and accept ability to limit those who would spam/abuse private messages. This ability would let you follow or accept follows by selecting a players profile and hitting a follow button which either puts them in a "following"/"followers"/"friends" group with the "friends" group giving you a list of those you can privately chat with...i'd also make sure to have the ability to unfriend/unfollow if you feel the need to later. I believe this would be a great feature both strategically for communication and organisation but also to improve the social level of gameplay immensely.

I think supercell doesn't want private message to prevent abuse/harassment. So you can attack someone, then message them after destroying them, or trash talk in wars, etc. I understand that private messaging is big in many other games, but there is also a lot of trash talk and such so they limit all that my not allowing messages.

I Don't see that changing in the future.

I Don't see that changing in the future.

exactly why i put in the part about being able to follow and unfollow... you can only be abused in private chat if you choose to keep them as a friend otherwise block and they're gone never to harass you again

Thousands of people will spam top players and it will bring flamewars to the game where immature people will pm other players insulting them.

You can't be spammed using my idea unless you choose to accept followers you don't know

You cant avoid immature players. Lets say you accept someone you attacked in MM but you dont remember and then he starts insulting you, this is not ideal for family friendly game.

As a 13+ app kids these days should have learned by that age to not talk to strangers, (i personally think its the lack of enforcement on age making this game more immature than alot of mmo's i've played... i've met a ridiculous amount of ppl claiming they're under that age openly in the last few weeks) and if you have the option to accept that doesn't mean you should unless you know them from other chats first and have verified first they are not the spamming type & if they do insult you later block them. i think with the follow/unfollow/friend/block options the pros far outwiegh the cons.

You are right but we both know that kids dont follow logic (in most cases) thats why i believe it will bring lots of problems, maybe not for you and me but surely for SC and their support.

To the ones that believe abuse/insulting

Yeah, there are going to be ones that will trash talk and insult people, but if one were to do that then its an easy block. And you don't have to deal with that person anymore. Like I said before. You should only be allowed to send 1 to 2 messages to that person until that person replies. That way you can't spam messages. You can still message others but still with the 1 to 2 messages before they reply. If they don't ever reply then you can't message them. If one were to be reported enough for trash talking or reported in the private message, then they get banned from private chat for a while. (Supercell can decide on how long a ban/ suspension lasts)
There is going to be flaws in any update request or idea that anyone comes up with, but I believe with the right amount of opinions this could be a good feature to the game.

Great ideas! For the time being our neighborhood has a Group chat via Messanger. It's worked wonderfully for months. We have weekly meetings and so forth that's been huge benefits. On occasion when we need a 1 in 1 convo, just have to inbox privately on whatever app or social media. I would absolutely love to see the option to unfriend, block, ect on other tabs. I myself as well as 3 others in my neighborhood have had an issue with a stalker....I mean severe stalker who we just can't get to disappear! He's been blocked on everything but we can't keep him from our farms and shop. You wouldn't believe the lengths this person has went to torment a few ladies. On a good note tho, Love Hay Day and have met some amazing friends along the way☺
