3 updates that I am pretty sure everyone could agree would make the game better

Are you the type of person who tries to argue with anything anyone says? :) I never said it was about me wanting to get more credit. It was a more general statement. There is in fact a"Friend in need" achievement (which I maxed out on), and there is a general understanding amongst clans that individuals should donate a reasonable amount of troops. If both are valid, then it follows that not being recognized for donating to war castles is a bad thing. You disagree. I would be willing to bet that at least 75% of the community disagrees with you.

There are a lot of TH9 people in my clan (and some TH10s) but only 1 or 2 of them donate. Let me revert the question back to you: Do you think people should get any credit for any donations? Why or why not? You seem to be implying that the "Friend in Need" achievement is lame. Are you not?

I agree. This can only be said for regular donations though. For war castle donations, no one has any transparency in that. Someone can give you a wallbreaker, and even if you are online you won't see that this happened.

I generally agree, but I also would say the same thing if someone were to say "a bunch or your attack replays, and those attacks on you, will be logged and viewable". Yet it happens! It seems to me that since this feature is already in the COC infrastructure, that simply flagging those that were "timed out" would be a simple thing. Identifying a flag would be negligible in terms of new space at least. I may be naive as I do not understand how all the actions are logged and stored.

Btw....I don't think computer games struggle at all with this ort of thing. I am thinking specifically of Dota 2 (and others like it). That isn't to say this sort of app wouldn't struggle, but...just saying.

Having war clan castle donations count towards your Friend in Need Achievement is ruled out.

Here is an explanation directly from SC as to why:


Troop donations made in Clan Wars will not count toward the Friend in Need achievement (or yield XP).

We'd like to make sure your clan mates donate Clan War troops for a single purpose: to win the War. We want Clashers to be motivated by the cause, and not for gems and achievements. We're not saying that every player would donate troops without consideration (most Clashers are loyal), but many would give away the cheapest troops available (like Goblins) simply to climb the achievement ladder.


Now that you can drop unwanted Clan War troops, this would be far too easy to exploit, especially given that, in Clan Wars, there is no cool down period between donations.


Again, most Clashers honor sportsmanlike behavior, but there are players who make the most of loopholes. We don't want fair players to feel like they're getting the raw end of the deal. We believe this to be a reasonable resolution.

Fair enough. This does make sense at one level, although I think that saying its "this" or "that" is a false dichotomy. You dont have to grant xp points in order to be transparent. I care less about the friend in need achievement than I care about just seeing who is and who isnt contributing to war castles. What is important is 1) the right troops are getting donated, and 2) a clan who is motivated to winning wars should also have some sense of accountability

So, I hear what is being said, but I think accountability as a clan is the key factor here, not xp as an individual

Some of this sounds semi game ruining. If be a lot harder on my clan members of I knew what they were donating. The attack grace period sounds impossible. And yes, I'd like to see who donates to war castles.

Sure the FIN achievement was a nice little gem boost seventy five thousand plus donations ago, but i dont need it, or reallyeven care about it. I get something more out of donating. A good clan. If everyone is selfless with their troops, it just flows nicely. If people donate to make their number big, well, that is just another form of ego stroking... My donations are bigger than yours syndrome. Who cares. So credit? What kind of credit? Recognition? No. A metal? No. Gold/elixir? No. A ty or np in chat? Yeah, thats about right.
