2 New AMAZING troops- Catapult and War Elephant ( With Realistic PICTURES )

1. The catapult

So far, there aren't really big or strong ranged troops in Clash of Clans with a lot of housing space. So I was thinking of a new troop: the catapult.

The stats for Level 1:
Hp: 440
Damage per Second: 72 ( Area splash )
Damage per shot: 224
Unlocked at: Dark Barracks Level 7
Cost: 360 de
Production time: 25 min
Housing space: 20
Movement speed: 12
Range: 5 tiles
Favourite target: Any ( Ground )


In order to not make it op, Hp and Damage are quite low. The troop is also slow and shoots only every 3 Seconds. But remember:
if they are protected by golems or other tanks, they would live much longer than wizards! They won't die from giant bombs or splash damage so easily. They have extreme long range 5 tiles like archer queen, and the splash damage of the big projectiles can damage more than one building at once with incredible 3 tiles splash damage. In order to avoid tactics like " Super Catapult", where catapults are immortal by the healing of healers, they cannot be healed by them ( only with the spell ).

New tactics with this troop:
With golems or giants and pekkas or valkyries you could always use some catapults, too. However, wizards with much more damage wouldn't get useless, you can clean up some outside buildings with them. The catapult would withstand multi- targeting infernos much longer than wizards, too...

How to protect your base:
If the catapults don't stay behind their tanks, they would be destroyed quickly, and one destroyed means 20 housing space lost, not just 4 at a wizard. So make bases where they could go around and away from the tanks.

Optional features:
1. The catapult as the second mechanical troop after the balloon, would be pulled by two barbarians/ skeletons/ one hog (no rider). They can tank the catapult a little bit, and if they are dead the catapult moves slowlier ( -2 ) / deals less damage ( -15 ). The hog would have 200 Hp.
2. ???

The War Elephant

The war elephant is a troop, which can only deal 40% of damage to walls, but 1,5x damage to defenses. It is also not affected by jump spells.

Hp: 4000
Training cost: 440 de
Favourite target: Any
Damage type: single target
Targets: Ground
Housing space: 30 (stat in picture is wrong)
Training time: 40 min

Unlocked at: Dark Barracks lvl8 for th10


Positive aspects of this troop:
- although it hasn't a favourite target, it does 1.5x more damage to defenses.
- On the "hut" on the back of the elephant are 2 archers. They can' t be damaged as long as the elephant lives and shoot their arrows everywhere in their range.
- The elephant attacks quite quickly, every 1.5 seconds.
- High Hp and Damage.


Negative aspects:
- It can be stuck in walls, because it deals reduced damage to them.
- Extremely slow.
- Ignores jump spells and can't use them.
- Exploding Wall breakers and earthquake spells baffle the war elephant, so it cannot move 1 second. ( If the war elephant goes to a place where 4 earthquake spells were used, he get 4 seconds baffled too )
- 2.5x damage from giant bombs

Summary:
If there aren't many walls, the war elephant is a really nice troop to tank or destroy. In order to not make it op, it gets baffled with earthquake spells, so at a base with many high level walls you may use pekkas instead.

Read the first line and came up with this question: Have you not used a dragon before?

Personally, I feel that this troop brings nothing new to the game right now, as almost every dark troop has done so far. Minion is the only one that REALLY doesn't add anything revolutionary (Unless you count the first flying mob-type troop). Hog rider was the first ground troop to ignore walls. Valkyre got the spin multi-building-target move. Golem was the first real high HP low DPS tank troop. Witch was the first troop to summon other troops. Lava Hound was the first flying high HP low DPS tank troop. What does the catapult add to the game which no other troop does? Also, 3 second attack time is a bit much. I would lower the damage and raise the attack speed.

I think it should be more HP and lower speed

also I have another idea, make it that you can either do that of what you sais or do another mode where it does less damage but has a bomb armed instead that has a splash affect, but remember it is weaker. A dragon is a air unit, the catapult is ground of course. I will add something more unique, too...

I don't think the Catapult seems like a good idea in my opinion, and here is why:

I think that it sounds a lot like a combination of 3 different troops- Archer, Wizard, and the Giant. It has mid-ranged health, mid-ranged attack, ranged and can survive better behind golem (most like wizard).

Just my opinion though

This idea is very nice , but i would like to make certain changes to this :

• Increase range at least to 5 tiles.
• Make the target type = Land , 3 tiles splash damage !! This oughta set things right.

So this will be the first troop with a HUGE DAMAGE SECTOR !!

Thank you! You are right, I will implement your ideas! But with a little disadvantage to balance it...
Ps: What means AOE?

1. Catapult- Update:
- Now with ridiculous high range ( 5 tiles )
- Slightly decreased Hp from 460 to 440 and damage from 95 to 80.
-Catapults now deal splash damage to multiple buildings!
- They cannot be healed by healers any more.

2. War Elephant

I don't know, the details should plan Supercell. Maybe 3 Levels for catapult and 2 for war elephant? As the elephant seems quite strong, it works like a tank and can destroy, too.

Pixlon, I think maybe if there are 3 levels on the catapult, we should maybe make the first level non splash damage unless you want to do the mode switching thing

I don't think Supercell will make a troop that gets more abilities/ different behavior after upgrading. So I will decrease damage of lvl1 catapult again, because the splash damage is a bit op, but it would be available for all levels. With mode switching you mean optional feature nr2 ? I think I will remove it. Do you have any new ideas? And why don't you really like the war elephant? I will make some improvements...

1. Catapult:
- reduced damage from 80 to 72 on Level 1.
- Removed optional feature nr2 ( shots two stones which attack two different buildings. )

2. War Elephant
- Doesn't need two gaps in a wall row now any more but deals only 40% of damage to walls which is basically the same.

The elephant is a huge thing, will be hard to put in, and I don't know about the picture, it does not look like it fits

Ok so the catapult is going to not be change, but SP did that to the wizard so why no the catapult. The wizard is single damage until lvl 4, then it turns to splash. Why can't the catapult do the same:confused:

Sorry, that's not right. Even lvl1 wizards deal splash damage, no troop changes abilities with upgrades so far. So you want something similar back?

the way I played for these that is not what I have been hearing from anybody. lvl1-3 is a fire ball, then there will be the splash energy.:straightface: But yeah ok it won't change, and yeah I thought your elephant would have been really huge but golem size is not bad:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

So the catapult.. would be like a mortar only that it moves? So far all troops are living things so maybe this catapult is powered by someone? a villager perhaps?

The war elephant? Hmm. Seem a bit OP to me.

Deploy your wallbreakers or cast your EQ on walls. deploy war elephant and haste it or rage it.. if rage... it deals 1.5 damage to defenses? plus the rage x 3?:smirk:

Ya I play a Campaign level , every March to keep the memories !

maybe a mammoth , cause Elephant is too Asian type and not Cool climate creature.

A mammoth ( though extinct ) and some archers on top , perfect.

Also suggesting that SC can use the same code of Valkyries ( that finds a common spot where it can attack 2 or more stuff ) in case of the catapult ! It will be more accurate and useful !

First of all, I searched for " war elephant animation " on the internet to get the picture, then I included it to a
blank troop picture I made. I thought off all the stats and behaviour of the troop myself.

Second, maybe the elephant seems op with his ridiculous damage to defenses, but it does much less damage to walls and can be baffled. But I will balance the troop a bit.
A mammoth is a good idea, too, maybe even better ( I love prehistoric animals like my avatar ) , of course the visual appereance had to be changed in this case.

I'd like to see the statistics on this troop. Other than that your ideas are pretty good, but the catapult needs more HP as it looks very strong.

You also haven't detailed any other information like upgrades and upgrade differences.

You ca see the stats on the picture. But sure I can add them again. Thank you, but I think catapult is fine because it deals splash damage and has such a long range. With optional feature nr1 there are added ca. 200 hp on the troop anyway.

A little update for war elephant:

1. Included stats so they are not only in th picture to see.
2. Balancing elephant:
Added 2.5 x damage from giant bombs.
Removed: deals 100 damage to buildings near it after it died.

The troop has nothing to do with a giant, because it's health is really low for 20 housing space. It's also more a mix between balloon ( splash damage)and archer queen, which is quite unique I think. I changed the whole idea a bit, so please check the new stats and abilities. Thanks

You know, I've been thinking of an idea of a hangar, which let's you build vehicles, I think this counts as a vehicle, so, if you want we can work our ideas out, that way, we can convince supercell to add the Hangar along with this new troop!

Btw, I like those two ideas, I think I already stated that, didn't i?

So, your hangar would be basically a new type of barracks? Sorry, but there are 4 empty slots of troops left in dark barracks which had to be filled up and it's not easy to invent so many unique troop ideas. But of course you are welcome to give feedback to my ideas, and I will do so too.

that elephant has the attack stat of a max wizard and the health of a max golem... make it 35 housing space, otherwise way too op

Ok I increased the housing space to 30. But remember: He has much less hp than a golem and hates walls and giant bombs! So it's not op I think.

this may come after a year

im not sure what to think of that catapult. atleast it should have some barbarians to push it. since moving wooden "car" isnt really clash of clans type a thing. so i would prefer somekinda slingshot-troop.


That elephant seems more fun for me. even tho im an air attacker, i still could use it for some purposes.
i would make it go slower on broken walls. like x0,5 movement speed. still ignoring jump spell, as elephants dont jump, but not caring about lightnings, unless those hits on itself. then it could have somekinda affect.

im still not sure tho, if i want to see this in the game. i will keep following this and see if someone comes up with an idea that makes me love them.
