Leaving the clan should not be so easily

Hello Everyone!

I am the leader of a clan. I am encountering a very annoying problem: there are many people join my clan, then they click the leave button, or some leave when I am not on. Our clan need more member, but I cannot prevent them from leaving again and again. This is because leaving a clan is very easy: just by clicking a button, members can leave easily. But no one can prevent them from leaving. I think it is not good. It will cause the great loss of many high level players in the clan, whereas many non-active players staying in the clan.

In my opinion, the leaving button should be modified like this:

1. When the leader clicks the leave button, A pop-up with a box will appear. You must type "CONFIRM" in the box, then click OK. U can leave.

2. When other players in the clan click the leave button, A pop-up with with the caption "Do you really want to leave? Before leaving, say something to the leader" and a box will appear. The OK button will be replaced by Send. After you type your request in the box, then tap Send, and a message saying "Request sent, waiting for leader's response" will appear. Meanwhile, the leader will see the request in the chat. there will be 2 button "Allow" and "Deny" below the request. If allowed, the player will leave the clan. If denied, the inbox of the player will contain a message saying "Your request is denied, you cannot leave the clan."

3. New member cannot leave the clan, and member will have to wait for 12 h to sent another request if they have already send one.

So you are basically proposing that as a leader... you should have the option to force someone to stay in your clan? Lol... good luck with that

What you are asking for is a way to hold people captive in your clan. I don't understand what you hope to gain by imprisoning someone in your clan?

Sorry, but this will never be implimented, everyone has the right to play freely and leave any clan they wish too.

This, if you are having problems I suggest you recruit from better places like reddit or our Clan Talk section.

Ah, this would be funny since I'm a leader, but no I dont like the idea. Uh-uh.

They have clans like this already. They are called jails.

I understand the frustration of recruiting and running a clan. But you need to understand, that doing this would cause major problems not only with the players, but support. They would recieve thousands of thousands of requests and complete about being held against their will.

Also, some people like to visit clans temporarily, that might even be under 12 hours. The pain of people constantly leaving cannot be resolved by denying them from leaving. If you are having trouble with members, I'd recommend going in the art sub-forum and request some good art for banners. Then you could start a clan thread on the forum with those banners that say "Rules", "About Us", "Recruitment", "History", etc. then provide some text underneath. That will help attract forumers to your clan, and hopefully you will get some loyal, responsible and enjoyable people.

Please don't feel discouraged in making another request/idea for Clash of Clans. No idea is wrong, but some are not well thought out or have not taken into account all the negative/bad causes of the idea, of that makes sense? Some things that happen in the game that are not good and are painful cannot always be resolved by new features, but can be resolved in other ways.

You want to be able to hold people hostage? This would cause more trouble than good, people should be able to choose if they want to leave, or else they will likely only donate wallbreakers and be as annoying as possible until you kick them. However, I agree with some sort of addition to the confirmation if the leader leaves however, letting him know who's going to be in charge and possibly requiring another step as you say, typing CONFIRM like for the name change. Once I left a clan thinking that my second account would be in charge while I was gone, but another member got it and he kicked out everyone (it was a tiny clan with only about 3 people but regardless). Perhaps you could choose who to promote as your replacement?

It's frustrating having members hop in and out of your clan. But any form of 'locking' them in is far, far worse.

Just think, you joined a new clan and you don't want to be in there. Your beliefs are very much against the type of chat they are having, or they are employing certain war tactics you are very much against.

If you are been forced to stay...you're going to find a way to get out. So instead of quietly leaving the clan, you would start spamming the clan chat, swearing, insulting the other players in there forcing them to kick you out instead.

A member just leaving quietly is a far better alternative.

So you want to make a jail

This feature would be great to cut down the number of hoppers. It'll cause you some problems in your clan though. If they want to leave then let them leave. If you deny their request to leave they'll start trolling, doing horrible attacks, donating goblins, pissing everyone off etc.. and the clan will be a total disaster.

bro. holding people ransom is not good. there are clans like this. they are called jails...

I'm confident in stating that Supercell will never allow Clan Leaders to hold Clan Members hostage.

Everyone here now please regard you as the leader, and think of this: how will you feel if you find the members are hopping in and out? How will you feel when a high level member leaves the clan but you cannot prevent? Obviously it will be very annoying. Take what I experienced as an instance. I recruited many people, some of whom are even high level players that I want. Once they joined, I have told them to stay, and make contributions to the clan. However, they clicked the leave button, then joined another clan so I cannot invite them back, only left a red message in the chat. Therefore, our clan is very hard to develop. Now leaving the clan for a member is so easy that active player are not easy to stay, but leaving those who are inactive in the clan. What is worse, this may cause hoppers joining and leaving. Finally, this will cause a clan very hard to develop. As a result, leaving the clan should not be so easy. It should be decided by the leader. Only in this way can active players stay and do more for the clan, and can the number of hoppers be decreased.

I have seen that some people leave only said "this clan sucks". If this feature exists, I will deny his request for leaving. Because if everyone in the clan think like this, the clan will never develop.

If someone says "this clan sucks" why would you want them in your clan?

I dont think so
I found some people leave the clan just saying "This clan sucks". If everyone in the clan think of that, the clan cannot develop. Clan's development relys on member's efforts. If members think the clan is not good then leave, how can the clan develop?
Now this setting is not good to the high level players in the clan. But will let more lazy members stay in the clan. Whats worse, hoppers will going in and out.
Therefore, if someone want to leave the clan only by saying "this clan sucks", I will be able to deny his request and persuade him to stay. Then more players will join the clan, and the clan will be better

No!!!! Please don't I am innocent. NOOOOOO!!!!!! lol this is what's gonna happen

It is your job as the clan leader to develop your clan, no one has a "duty" to do this but you. If you have an issue with people saying "this clan sucks" and leaving, then you need to realize that the blame falls directly on you as leader of the clan.

Have you considered the possibility that it is not their duty to develop your clan for you? Why should I have to develop your clan? Why would I just not make my on clan? What makes your clan special?

Other people have suggested that what you are proposing is a jail. I disagree. To go to jail you generally have to commit a crime so the jail is a (possibly deserved) punishment.

There is a another term for taking innocent people, holding them against their will, forcing them to give up their possession and work at your bidding.

What you are proposing is actually slavery.

i.e., get troops from you, go raid, leave clan, get troops from me, go raid, and on and on and on.

Even as a Clan member you have to wait 15 min before requests, but a spam joiner gets free will. There should be a limit to a 24 hr period of joining and leaving clans. Make sense?

This would be a bad idea. If someone doesn't want to be in a clan, they shouldn't be forced to be in it.

Sorry, you're a leader. Leaders lead the willing and ignore the ones who aren't willing.

If I was trapped in a clan, I'd quit playing. This idea would generally cause SuperCell to lose a majority of players.

Recruiting is hard but you'll get members. You don't need the ones who don't like your clan.

Well how about giving the leader an option for when people leave a clan a pop-up with a message "Can you please write about why you are leaving" and the person that's leaving would have an option to just leave or to respond. If they respond the leader would see it and can reply.

Nope. Doesn't make sense at all.

When you join a clan and see 10 unfilled troop requests and a lost war where only 2 people attacked and 5 people left, you get out of there ASAP.

I was looking for a home for my th4 mini account. I joined maybe 20 clans over a day long period before I found a half decent clan that would accept a th4. Most clans that take a th4 are really, really, really bad and you can't tell until you join. I would join, look around and leave.

I will admit, I did not read every response here, however, as a leader we really need to find means of holding folks in during War. If not holding them in during war, they should have a heavier penalty for leaving during a war. The current delay of letting them war is not enough. Its a huge disadvantage if someone says, "hey.. im staying" then ups and leaves once war is declared. If this is just disliked totally, then put in a new stat that shows often someone has left during war.

Leaders have the right to know if someone is high risk for jumping/hopping.

No, no, and no.

This is all about recruiting and clan management. The lower the bar is to enter your clan, the more players you're going to get passing through. If you want players who are going to stay and become loyal members, your clan should be invite only most of the time, should have basic requirements (level, troop, trophy, and/or donation minimums) that players are expected to meet, and you should recruit mostly in places other than global and screen prospective members carefully.

there should be some form of spam hoppers i will call them this lets say 4 hops within a hour time frame some of the hoppers are bots talking about free gems if i was a clan leader i should be able to leave my clan open without a flood this person has joined the clan this person has left the clan and usually happens in a fraction of a second thats just annoying and plain out wrong for supercel to allow this to happen

I have the same issue with my clan. Me and the CO-Learders in my clan have all said be nice if it costed gems to leave and more gems during war.

I don't agree with locking people in however, and that's your problem with clan management.

a jail clan isnt a good idea i agree
