New ideas

We should have a new hero( wizard hero or goblin hero). A th 11 should come out. We should also be able to direct troops not directly at townhalls but even a small amout of control other than spawn points. A new defense( something that shoots a bomb of arrows). More walls. Clan alliances and we should have a diplomat/ambassador to try and form a clan alliance 5 clan max. A multi clan war with like 5 clans and every member gets 3 to 5 attacks to try and get as many stars as possible ont he other clans.

Also, new heroes have been ruled out if I recall correctly. (don't quote me on that)

It's not heroes in general that has been ruled out from the suggestions, but the litteral statement says:

Now this has to do with how you interpret this statement, but in my opinion they ask for more originality regarding to hero sugegstions. Supercell issn't stupid and knows they could release a hero based on the existing troop types, but they simply ask for none existing troop type based heroes. Yet again this is matter of interpretation, but i think your chances are very slim when requesting a hero based on an existing troop type. Perhaps something new and original will attract their attention =) so try to work on that and the public response will be more accepting. ;)

Heroes take a lot to balance.
The idea of having a flare like in BB is under consideration, you should make a petition in order for your voice to be better heard.
Do you have any statistics for this new defense.
I think we have enough walls.
