Leaving Clan During War - New Leave Confirmation Message
Proposal: If you have unused war attacks, you would receive a different message when you are asked to confirm you want to leave a clan.
Right now it says:
LEAVE CLAN? Are you sure you want to leave?
Okay / Cancel
If you are in a war and haven't fought your battles, I would propose the message be changed to something like this:
Chief! Are you sure you want to leave while we're at war? Your clan still needs your help to achieve victory!
Stay and Fight / Leave Anyway
Unlike other proposals to reduce/eliminate the problem of war deserters, this does not punish anyone, force them to stay in a clan, or create a negative stat (all bad ideas that aren't going to happen). Instead, it just makes people think twice about leaving a clan during war, and will hopefully convince some to stay and battle.
It may only be marginally helpful, but it would only take a few lines of code, and no additional steps from players leaving a clan (you already get a confirmation message; you'd just be getting a different one). Really, it's the most we can expect Supercell to do to address the issue (which should mostly be addressed through clan management anyway)

Why forcing players to stay in a clan, punishing those who leave, and negative stats won't work:
Punishing players who leave after being included in war without using their battles is a common request, however many people will point out that the proposed solutions could also hurt players who don't deserve to be punished, and will not effectively solve the issue for numerous reasons:
- Even if you could force players to stay, you can't force them to attack or to behave.
- This would encourage players to behave badly so they'd get kicked instead of leaving to avoid punishment.
- Players often leave and return to attack, or perhaps were included against their will
Many simple suggestions have been given to clan leaders who complain about players leaving without attacking, the most common being to sit new players out until you're confident they can be relied on to show up. You can also require players to donate a certain amount or post practice war attack replays, but even just the first suggestion will make the problem almost completely disappear.
