Say your upgrading your wizard tower, it takes 5 days to upgrade and it gains 100 HP from the upgrade, What if every day of the upgrade, the tower gains 20 HP instead of the 100 at the end. To me this makes more sense because it shows that the builders are actually making progress instead of just hitting a hammer on a building. Tell me what you think below, feel free to ask questions too!
P.S this works for all buildings and upgrades, not just wizard towers.

I feel as though since the upgrade itself is not completed it should not gain anything. When you look at the upgrade screen it shows what will happen once the upgrade is completed. Therefore since the upgrade is not completed while the builders are still working on it I believe that it should remain the same until said upgrade is finished.

gaining 30-100 hit points while upgrading doesn't make that much of a difference when attacking, I don't think sc would be interested enough to add this feature to the game for just a small little change.
also I would say that we should also know on the screen for the upgrade how much XP it gives us before we anything
