I wouldn't recommend climbing much higher, things will only get worst. What you can do now is maintain trophies and enjoy the loot bonus.
Try sniping a few THs (if you find any), helps keep trophy level. If you can go out searching for TH snipes while army trains.
Oh, there's also a little trick: Instead of hitting Next for extended periods, return to village and then start Nexting again. This seems to reset the matchmaking algorithm and you get a few matches which offer good trophies. After 5~10 Nexts the low trophy matches return, though.
I don't think this is fair...

I wouldn't say that the trophy system is "unfair". It's fair if it's the same for everyone - which in fact it is.
I would say that it is a poorly designed system. To me, trophy's should be awarded based on the relative difficulty of the bases involved, rather than their current trophy count. But, SC never asked my opinion... :smirk:
As of one of the recent updates, I understand that TH (+/- 1) is now a factor in matchmaking but that the actual offer of cups remains solely driven by trophy difference. I presume that Zachuva's formula remains accurate for calculating offers.
The game now wants to match you to someone close to your TH but there are far fewer TH8s above you than there are below you within the same up and down range.
This means that the higher you climb, the lower the offers you are likely to see. It is the same issue for max TH10s up in the leaderboards except that they have trouble finding a matchup at all (even for a single cup).
The larger pool of TH8s and 9s below you won't have any trouble finding you for a big cup offer.
This simply means that pushing gets progressively harder as you go higher.
Make sure you play in long sessions rather than a couple of attacks here and there. If you want to climb to the very top of the pile, you must amass enough cups to keep you ahead of the inevitable loss when you go on defence.
