I always say, use one golem per AD you can take out, during your initial kill squad attack. If you can get only one ad, then you need to use only one golem, two ads, then 2 golems etc.. Bring just enough wizards to funnel and a couple for cleanup.
Do not bring more than 5 minions. A big problem I see is people bringing like 15 minions, big mistake.
Bring ONE hound per AD, that you will not be able to get with your kill squad. Some people bring 3 hounds for 2 ads. Unless they are very deep, bring only 2 hounds for 2 ads. What will happen, on a good attack, is one or possibly 2 hounds won't even pop, and you will have problems cleaning up. You want your hounds to die, but live just long enough to not lose many balloons to the ads.
Drop only loons TWO per defense, not a big line or bunch. Drop them as fast as you can behind the hounds, they should be all down in seconds after the hounds drop. A guy in our clan hounds are dead before he get his loons down....Work on the speed and accuracy.
Place your rage spells so they get your loons to the ads asap. Do not use heal, only rage or haste. Haste level 2 or higher is very useful also, level 1 not so much. At level 4, I 3 starred a TH10 using haste with one rage for the core.
And as always, make sure the base is a good candidate for a golavaloon attack. Just because you like the attack and are good at it, does not mean that you can use it on every base. Bases with ADs at or near the edge are perfect. Definitely get GOHO under your belt as an attack. Between the two, you will be able to 3 star most bases.
