I'm not sure about a hero. However, I love the Goblin idea as an aerial defensive support against air assaults, i.e. drags, mi ions, etc. Goblins could be flying goblins that have freeze attacks. For instance, after flying, the goblin could freeze a giant and an archer could shoot him and break the gisnt into little statue pieces.. I also think most castles have defensive walls where archers can walk along the tours. Providing a connection wall between archer tours would allow the archers some space to walk a perimeter and have a mobile strike zone. In addition, I believe the statues would be really cool if they were able to come alive. As a player, I would be more inclined to our purchase the statues if they were something other than beautifying my CC landscape. Another area for defense might be to add moats around the perimeter of the walls. Moats could slow the ground attack, especially for heavy troops like golems. In the moat, they're could be Lockness Monsters of some sort as well. Just some ideas I would love to see for future updates.
