Valkyries deal double damage to Inferno Towers
Problem 1: Inferno Towers
As the game currently stands, there is a major problem - TH10 is unbalanced. As a max TH9, I have trouble even 2-starring TH10s with infernos and a decent layout. Even for TH10s, infernos are a major issue. It's so bad, there are major war players who will never upgrade to TH10, so called "perma-TH9s". The fact is that TH9 v. TH9 is balanced and enjoyable, but TH10 is not. Personally, I don't think the infernos should be nerfed. TH10s deserve a tough defense, especially since it costs DE. But right now it has no weakness.
Problem 2: Valkyries
Now, another problem: the Valkyrie. Even though it has been upgraded over the past year, it still serves no purpose in most major war strategies. Sure, valkyries are fun, and can be used very well against a bad base layout, but no current major war strategies utilizes Valkyries. Most TH9 players don't even upgrade them until last.
Solution
Make Valkyries deal double damage to inferno towers. Think about it. It would give this under-utilized troop a real role. It would give TH9s at least a sliver of a chance of battling TH10s. TH10 would become more balanced as new attack strategies developed. And it's not too over-powered, as getting valkyries into a TH10 core is no easy feat.
Example upgrade chart
Level 1: 1x dmg to infernos
Level 2: 1x dmg to infernos
Level 3: 1.5x dmg to infernos
Level 4: 2x dmg to infernos
(Perhaps even give TH10s level 5 w/ 3x dmg to infernos??)
I think this would be a great win for TH9 and TH10 players, and would lead to some new, interesting strategies as well as bring some balance to the game. Thoughts?
One of the best ideas I've heard on the forums!
While I would slightly disagree that valks are currently worthless they could definitely have a higher purpose. As you point out with no AI tweeks it would still require funnelling skills. (No spamming) TH9s might be able to handle a preme 10 but max 10 would still be impossible. And 10 on 10 crime would be more balanced.
Sorry for going a bit off-track here

If anything, it should be a troop that is exclusive to TH10 (of which there are none - yet). There is no reason for any town hall level below TH10 to have access to something that has a special ability against inferno towers.
I disagree with your reason that Valks should not be buffed against Inferno towers.
Th9 3 star strategies include use of balloons (what th4-5?), hogs (th7), Valks (th8) as a major part of the attacking force (and often a key troop of a raid). Sure you use lava hounds with loons, but not always. You don't use anything with hogs.
What about the most ubiquitous of troops, the golem (th8)?
My point is most strategies at th9 use major troops unlocked at lower th levels.

More importantly, th8 level 2 valks have a hard time against th9 defenses. I doubt a th8 will EVER 2 star a th10 with max th9 defences and even a level 1 inferno, unless they are rushed like hell! (In which case, they really shouldn't be complaining)
Level 2 valks are butter with level 3 x-bows hitting them.
I am not against introduction of a new troop at th10 to counter infernos. I'm all for it! But let's not neglect my favourite troop in the game just cause its unlocked at th8 (we all know a well used th8 troop used commonly at th10, the PEKKA).
I think Valks vs Infernos are a great idea worth exploring! Nothing is OP as long as it is properly balanced before releasing the update.
You made valid points Badfish1979
Let me now argue my viewpoint for those 3 points you mentioned.
1. I said "buffed" against inferno towers and not "special ability" against inferno towers (although a special ability wouldn't be too bad either). However, coming to this point, the valks ARE useful at th8 and th9 both at 3 star war strategies and 2 star trophy pushing strategies (at level 2).
2. The addition of the special ability wouldn't impact much of the Valkyrie use at th8 and 9. It doesn't need to. Its already useful there. (though its not used very commonly and I can understand why)
3. I already made my point that valks aren't useless at lower th levels (quite the contrary).
You make a good point that you could easily add extra level of valks at th10 to buff them against infernos. It goes with the general direction of this thread. However, let me argue for the addition of special ability and why it isn't unneeded at lower ths (th9).
Note that addition of this special ability wouldn't affect valks for th8 v th9. And I don't think we need to analyse th8 v th10 since that is ridiculous.
I think th9 should be able to 2 star th10s. And they can. Adding this special ability gives th9s another strategy along with GoWiPe and GoWiWi to 2 star max th10s (especially in the absence of freeze spells).
As I see it, the "negate healing" god mode of the inferno makes valks useless against a th10. With a special ability, th9s can potentially 3 star new th10s with level 1 infernos in wars with another strategy.
This could also be done by adding freeze spells to th9's arsenal but I think it might make air attacks op (although I haven't thought much about this).
Not exactly valkyrie vs inferno but...
Most people's malice toward inferno towers is that multi-infernos negate healing to 5 targets. This was done to combat hogs with heals taking out th10s (from what I have come across; I wasn't in tune with the times when the infernos came out).
Now this may have already been suggested, but I'll go ahead and say it anyway. Why didn't they just add a multiplier to the damage done to hogs? Like it is with GBs vs hogs and teslas vs PEKKAs. The 'negate healing' can then be done away with.
This opens up so many more strategies at th10 with valks and giants and what not!
Anyone agree with what I suggest? Feel free to point out any misconceptions I may have.
