How would you communicate the password to people entitled to know ? It’s secret so, clan mail and clan chat are out.
How would you communicate a *changed* password to the required people ? A static password is useless long term.
You have to use a comms method external to the game and suddenly you are back to square one.
You would need to use the same app/method to communicate passwords, as you would use to let someone new, know when and how to join your clan, or that a trusted member from an allied clan says “Open up, I want to come home”.
Sorry, group and shared password systems never really operate as intended, that’s why they are rarely used.
A whitelist of pre-approved player tags would work, be easy to setup if you used a current clan listing but require real effort to maintain, and currently the only process remotely similar is selecting CW participants.
To be honest I really don’t think this issue is that important or time-critical to most clans.
