GoWiPe @ TH8

I've seen some very reputable players and clans claim that this is not a 3 star attack. I'm a maxed TH8 and have been camped here for a month not upgrading... and i have 3 stared every single TH8 for the past 20 wars. maxed TH8s and even a few TH8.5s.

Troop composition varies depending upon base, but usually 2 golem (lvl2), 2 pekka (lvl3), 20 wiz (lvl5), BK (lvl8), CC pekka (lvl4), and 5 WBs...

i will occasionally bring more wiz instead of the third pekka. or 4 hogs/loons for a surgical attack. and every attack is 3 stars

can someone tell me why great players say it isnt?

That is because you have limited control of how the attack goes. Most of us agree its potencially a 3 star attack on every TH8, but its based a bit on luck as to where troops go and what do they target mainly once you are in the core.

Against specific bases, with 2-3 big compartments only it can be devastating specially with some backend loons.

The thing is, hogs, best attack strategy by far at th8 with all its variations give you much more control over the attack. Therefore it is a more reliable and solid strategy.

Im glad youve got good results with gowipe so far, but i see it as a limited attack and somewhat "luck dependable".

You can compare strategies easily as to their limits. TH8s in my clan have been ocasionally taking down non-rushed low TH9s for a while with hogs. I have yet to see one of those low TH9s with a good layout be taken down by a gowipe.

Basically, you are saying that you are on a streak of 40 straight 3* attacks as a max TH8. Either there is more to the story or you are completely full of it.

I'd be utterly delighted to see videos of just, say, the past 10 straight 3* attacks & also clearly document that this is from the past five straight wars...

I would love to see some of these attacks. I highly doubt you actually 3 star as much as you say, unless you are hitting terrible bases.

Hey, would you be cool with me joining your clan.... I feel I'm pretty proficient with hogs, but wont hit certain bases because of layout, or possible double bombs.... whereas with goWiPe I never run into a problem. I habe a second account that I use for "hog" bases..... but would love to see these "sure thing" hog attacks..... and be happy to do my goWiPe....

It wouldnt be to stay, maybe just 2 or 3 wars.... but if I can learn something, and share knowledge as well it would be great..... let me know clan tag if interested.... I'm a near maxed TH8.... just all lvl9 cannons, and a few walls are not skulls yet... and well over 500 war stars... 3 stars or bust is my motto and my clans...

I don't think you understand what 3 star or bust means. There's no guaranteed 3 star attack on any th8 which you're acting like there is. There's gowipe which is a safe two but unlikely three and hogs which are going for the home run.. the three stars OR BUST happens all the time.

OneHive has a good explanation on why GoWiPe is a 2 star attack at TH8, TH9 or TH10. The gist of it is that it's great to get to the core, however once there, you are usually out of spells, out of WB and the walls will slow down your units enough for the defense to kill your remaining forces.

It can 3 star, definitely, but in most cases, after the core is done, it runs out of steam and fizzles.

It remains a good solid way of reaching the core, you then use hogs or loons to finish off the reminder of the defenses.

Why are you all so quick to doubt him? Is it not possible that hes just a very proficient attacker. If hes attacking the right bases and knows what he's doing its still possible.

three stars or bust is just a phrase and only a phrase. Look, i'm not bragging, or trying to start some internet chest beating contest. I honestly have not had trouble with any TH8 for as long as i can remember. I'm currently teaching it to my fellow clan mates and was just wondering if maybe i shouldn't because of the flat out consensus that its not a "sure 3 star". Yet i beg to differ..... What the second poster said, i believe to be backwards (for me). He said hogs are a sure thing and gowipe is a maybe.... i have that backwards. i dont NOT believe him about hogs. it would be great to learn, but i'm positive about GoWiPe and taking out TH8s

I really am not one to continue arguments online. If someone wants me to join their clan, I'd be happy to do so. war a few times and hit the top two TH8s in war. and ensure your clan 3 stars. If not, oh well. nbd.

Like i said, i'm not leaving my clan permanently, i just love information sharing, it makes everyone better.

Only condition, is the clan i war with better be half decent. 80% wins at a very minimum. I'm not gonna join some scrubs just to prove a point.
