When I first maxed heroes I put my DE outside my base. People would take the DE then proceed to try to get my other storages. So I put it back inside my base. People get greedy.

And when the take the free th and still try to get the collectors that are clearly empty. The log shows 220 archers and total loot took is 1020. When I'm bored I'll join their clan and teach them the way while embarrassing them to the clan.
What league were you in? In crystal and masters I would've probably given you the trophies but above from it trophies become as important as DE, so why not both? The whole idea of the game is to raid others and while there might be a "social contract", the latter doesn't help with upgrades, because not everyone cooperates. If you're gonna offer something it's either everything or nothing (far from ideal, but that's just how things are).Quote:

Personally I would probably just take the free loot but if I was on a de push, I may do an all out raid. Just because you are being nice does not obligate anyone to just drop trophies on you if they have other goals they are pushing for, doesn't make them bad people. Maybe gold and elixer aren't their main priority, they dont want to pass it up but keep their eye on the prize.

Yeah that doesn't work, I learned it the hard way too. Left my storages outside and my TH and they still went all out on me. But now that my base and troops are stronger I do the same. Plus, upgrading walls cost so much loot, I need as much as I can get.
I have been giving out max storage loot for 11 days now. (Upgrading to th10.)
I pondered doing what you did and came to the conclusion that by putting out storages like this I make their "perceivable raid" easier. They take easy storage and then think why not go for the other stuff and it makes sense.
If one spreads out their loot in four corners then you think about whether you can hit all four or three corners and whether that's worth it or not. Now when you just make one corner easy for them then all they have to do is try and hit 2 corners and it's worth it. You make the raid easy for them.
If you can't spend resources for whatever reason then just keep them safe in a normal layout. If they hit you and take some then that's equivalent to you giving up partial loot (next to TH.) If they take more then no problem either 'cause you didn't need it anyways.
You feel like ♥♥♥♥ 'cause you think people are not greedy and will reward you for your altruistic (almost) deed but, that's not the case mostly.
Just run your normal setup.
With the cc there I'd probably just wreck the base because you made me think about it.
Its supercell that force us to farm expensive walls.
