Is Th 9.5 still worth the trouble?

I've been a Th 9 since January of this year and I'm looking at moving to Th 10 soon. I had heard a lot about Th 9.5 and was sure that's the route I would take. Until 25 new walls where added to Th 10

I was hoping to get a word on an authority of mid town hall range match ups so I could see if becoming a Th 9.5 would even benefit my clan at this point in the game. Or should I just go to Th10 and upgrade defenses regularly?

Can someone help me?

Depends on your war size and position on the map. and unfortunately the level of your walls.

i delayed my infernos for about 3 months now. Pekkas, golems and freeze are all maxed now. Bare in mind I have 250 lava walls.

you obviously feel it more in a smaller clan but I am ranked number one, so having a high war weight would be detrimental to the clan.

either way, without my infernos, I was pulling in 2 mid th10s with infernos consistently. The only way to remedy this was to build and cancel one inferno on prep day, it's easy to do with war win bonus and a few raids. It was the only way for me to stop th9s from 2 starring me.

ive actually permanently dropped 1 inferno now and will permanently drop the other once we have more th10s in the clan. I don't mind building and cancelling as it gives me a place to dump gold in the mean time. No way am I gonna work on magmas because the weight would just be too much. This was in a 20v20 environment.

anyways if you are mid of the map with other th10s then just drop them. Good luck! Went in a bit of a ramble lol

I'm going TH9.5 not because of war weighting, but for farming reasons. It is much easier to farm walls at the start of TH10 than it is to farm them as an end game.

Just about 7 days from th10 myself with my second town, and only reason I'm going is because I tend to bring in those same 2 th10s as a fully maxed 9...lavas and 30/30. Still haven't made up my mind as to what I'll do myself....as my 9 is generally in the #1 position as well. My 10 with max defenses and lab has turned into the war atm. In fact this war my presence has brought in 4 10s but two of them are glorified 8s, and all the 9s in my clan have so far posted 11/12 stars on them....so at least a couple of the 9s below me are getting used to hitting infernos.

I can understand the 9.5 route because the war matchmaking is sort of broken. But my opinion is that you should just go to full TH10, upgrade, and keep on warring. Easier matches in war are not worth sacrificing progress on your base. It's much more satisfying to keep upgrading and seeing your base bet close to max.

That makes sense I wouldn't want to be stuck at the end of another Th with only walls and Hero's to do

I would use 9.5 as a transition to 10, not as a place to live the way some people have been. You don't necessarily want to put inferno towers or the new xbow down before you have done some offensive upgrades. Maybe do the spell factory, lab, and CC on day one, then start on camps. Do golems in the lab as soon as it finishes while elixir is still going to camps. Then start upgrading freeze and do the new walls, cannon, and archer tower. Then put down infernos.

I assume you have healthy heroes? Max lab?

Our 9.5 have had freeze to level 4 minimum along with multiple upgraded troops, max CC and max camps, before doing infernos.

We haven't been so hot on the heroes though, one of our guys just put infernos down with 19/16 heroes. I'm not so sure about that.

I'd like to see 20/20 before going 9.5, but that's just me.

wow a super maxed th9! Kudos to you! I was fully maxed with all lavas (23/23 heroes) and I could not handle the full storages anymore so I pressed the button lol

yeah in an ideal world you would want to be matched with a th9 that is also 30/30 with full lava. Unfortunately this will not happen in regular wars unless it's arranged - the sad truth!

so why disadvantage yourself if you are always going to be pulling a th10 with 240 camp space and 5 spells. Max golaloon will wreck any th9 with a proper AQ kill.

infernos can be dealt with but expecting a th9 to 3 star it is tough. The experience is helpful but you can't really use the normal goho golaloon on them, just not enough oomph!

my Heros are as it stands: Aq 17, Bk 15 I've got some spells and the two troops I don't use to go valks and dragons it'll still be a couple months for the big upgrade but I wanted to find a plan before I made a huge mistake.

I wasn't planning on being 9.5 forever I just wanted to know if it was still a good place to start and so far I like what I'm hearing.

Umm, no its not at all. Until you get all your troops leveled, you will make less than at th9. You will get raided more also, and lose more per raid, until you build your infernos.

To the op, there are about 10 other posts on this. The answer is no its not worth it. Focus on getting your offense up to speed and the start upgrading.
