I always advertise an item like bacon and eggs, eggs or popcorn as they take a while to sell and thus will be in the newspaper for longer. Other than those are there others (or better) items to advertise which will result in longer times in the newspaper?
I'm sure Strawberries, eggs, etc. Personally I think bacon and eggs is the best. Plus you will be on the newspaper for the max of 3 hours per item, unless you advertize another one.
Bacon and eggs are the longest, then strawberries and eggs.
Popcorn (plain or spicy) are fairly quick sellers, so I normally don't advertise them.
Is this why the paper is flooded with adverts for B&E even though that's not the only item for sale? I always just thought it would be better to quickly sell out of all items and refill the empty stalls rather than to have "stale" items just stating around. I guess that explains the lack of variety in the DD. I didn't know it was a particular method.
Sure it's better to quickly sell stuff and make room for the stalls but if you use something that sells quickly like popcorn, then you have to wait another 30 minutes oppose to 3 hours. Therefore you see a lot of B and E's on the DD.Quote:

Once that advertized item sells, you are no longer on the DD so it seems. I can tell that it does because when I sell most of my wheat and if I advertize one of my wheat and someone buys that advertized wheat, then i'm off the dd and nobody comes to buy the rest of it. If you tap on BnE ads, the BnE will definitely still be there, same with eggs and strawberry.
If you tap on a good ad and the stall is empty, the possibility might be someone just bought the advertised item and it hasn't fallen off the system yet, for that 1 minute or so it stays in your DD,
OR, my theory is, if the ad was a nice-ish ad like a barn item or even low prices milk (10 for 90 coins), they get recirculated over and over and over. I still see shops at low level with impossible 4322 visitors, this has been reported on this thread, and it still exists.

but in the end, if your ad is strawberries or BnE it will probably stay there until someone actually buys it.
I really hate the fact that players use bacon and eggs for advertisement. I use to visit those ads though, in case there is something else and it is kind of annoying to find a empty shop (almost) every time. The reason it is annoying, is that it is not necessary that the ad lasts 3 hours, because the advertiser won't be there to put up new items for sale all this time.
But I have to admit that I understand why people use it, with the new newspaper almost everything else get sold so quick that if you want your ad to stay longer you have to use b&e, or other annoying stuff lol. Lately I have been buying b&e myself only to use it for advertising when I'm wheating to find expansion items. It works really well when I sell 10 wheat for 1 coin. I can't advertise something else, because it is bought too fast. I never use b&e as advertising when I sell other stuff though. I don't need ads then, because neighbors will buy it in the time I get back to the game. Only use it for wheating, if not I wouldn't have much success with that lol.
Soo the conclusion is that b&e is the best item to advertise with, but you don't really need 3 hours in the newspaper everytime you have something in your shop to sell. Sometimes I just advertise a fast selling item, just to use a free ad to get the citizen kane 3 achievement.
I advertise items that don't sell often like ice cream maker items, chocolate cakes/strawberry cakes, and other high priced items that you don't see often. Sell them once I put the hard to sell items ahead of the item in the stalls that way there is more people coming to my farm as I avoid bacon and egg ads and others do too.
