Using Diamonds

I have no intention on spending money on HayDay (this has been my number 1 rule on games like Clash Of Clans and ive done great on them). However, like on CoC, you occasionally get free diamonds.
What is the best way to spend those few diamonds that you have?
Ive spent a few (6 at a time) on adding a building slot. Which buildings should i add slots to first?

Dairy and sugar are the most important machines to max out IMO and also at the top of my list of best thing to spend diamonds on. After that I don't really have a priority for expanding machines but I have spread most of my diamonds out between them and made a couple boneheaded expansion choices too (coffee kiosk and jeweler), so stick to machines you use the most.

Other things I think are worth spending diamonds on are the store slots and if you are in a pinch and really need gold or a certain item, hire Tom.

Sugar and dairy slots are the most important ones, max slots for those. Other machines it's up to you. I recommend that don't waste too many queue slots on jam, jewellery and smelters. Those items takes long time to "cook" so you manage 2-3 slots. Feed mills are good to expand too.

And Tom is always good investment.

Sugar and dairy slots are definately useful to have. For other machines I like to have a few slots in each to keep them running overnight as it will also help to get the mastery and easier to recover and work on boats.

So to prioritize I would say sugar and dairy first feed mills is very useful and expand most other machines (jam maker and smelters definately last and just before that a few on the coffee kiosk) with 2 slots so you have 4. From there you could work on expanding bakery and popcorn pot.

Tom is also very useful to have around the farm.

I wouldn't say expanding the coffee kiosk is a boneheaded expansion. It wasn't my top priority but I expanded that one to 6 slots as well. If you send the last boat of the day right before it's time to sleep and the next one wants hot chocolate or raspberry mocha I can throw 6 of them in there which will be enough for the boat in I open 1 crate of that item.
