New Builder

6 builders? I think 5 is a waste of gems. I only have 4 and I am fine with it staying that way.

I watch a TH8 youtuber and judging by the price of some upgrades he needs to make, I'm guessing TH8 labs would take a while. But in the two months that I spent at TH6, I had my troops all maxed in about a week or two. I think troops taking the longest to upgrade is not really a range of TH levels. It certainly does not take that long at TH6, but at TH5 you must max your storages for lightning spell level 4. It depends on what troop upgrades you must make at any given TH level.

Several days ago I was in favour of another builder. However thinking about how much time I spend on CoC farming to keep all 5 builders busy I'm now no longer supportive of having another builder. I need to play less not more.

At TH9 you'll most likely find that this is no longer the scenario. It's takes 198 days to max all the TH9 lab stuff. It takes 160 days (157.5 technically) to max your queen to lvl 30 at TH9. So if you have your queen down 24/7 from level 1 to level 30 you'll finish her a month before you max your lab stuff. But unless you're raiding 12 hours a day, who can keep their queen down 24/7 for months and months?
And that doesn't even take into account maxing your King, doing all your defensive upgrades (which take considerable time at TH9 with 10-14 day build times for most defenses), and 1 BILLION combined gold and elixir needed to max all your Lava Walls (4 million per wall times 250 walls).

I think most people with things like jobs and families will max their lab stuff at TH9 LONG before they max the rest.
