Threads that get your attention, good or bad

I have been hanging out in the forum threads for a relatively short period of time, but am a pretty loyal reader, if not a responder. I have been on enough that there are patterns that i recognize and use to guide my attention. Some days there are threads that just scream to be read, while others cry out that they are a waste of time (3 responses for several hundred views as an example).

I have a pretty good personal record on guessing who is going to flame or express annoyance by the thread topic title, and there are posts that I will read specifically because I see a response by a member who generally adds to my knowledge or makes me laugh. There are definitely some topics that make me inwardly groan and avoid at all cost.

Do other members have similar filters or do you read everything looking for gems to which you can contribute?

We all have to have the avoid this thread topic. I like to read a lot of flames at people. Makes me feel better about life seeing someone give ♥♥♥♥,to someone other then me for a change. Sometimes the flames can get a bit high and ugly but normally fun to read. Whining about th 11 has become off putting for me. As well as hearing about people whine about the so called OP strategies used. Other then those I normally read a lot of stuff and if I see a good reason to add a post I shall do so...

I have seen a lot of thread titles that I think are meant to grab attention but are just silly to me. A title should give an idea as to what your post is about/asking/explaining.

Too many times I see super vague thread titles like:
-"Question" -Ok but how about a little more info about the question you will be asking
-"What happened?" - TO WHAT?

Then there is the super obnoxious "click bait" titles (for example: "Dont you hate when....", "That time when....", "Help!", "How do you...".

Quit with the "..." in your titles, be clear, makes it easier for people to check out threads that pertain to them, they can answer/help with or can get help from.

Part of keeping the forums clean should be to require clear thread titles or let mods change the titles to be more accurate/desctiptive or remove posts all together.

Not sure if thats what OP meant but its been on my mind off and on for a while and your title made me think of this again. Rant over...for now.

The kind of threads I avoid are those that are
a. About upcoming upgrade speculations/"leaks" (TH11, mostly).
b. About TH10s asking for advice (I'm a TH9, so I wouldn't be of much help).
c. Nonsense titles that usually mean ads/spam/whatever.

I don't consider it a rant... I am interested in the filters people use to decide what pulls then to a thread, or drives them away. The forum can be a great source of knowledge, but sometimes it's hard to sort between the wheat and the chaff.

Most of the threads i see here are, to be perfectly honest, kind of boring and basically a repeat of hundreds of threads before them. I mean, how many times have we seen Fresh Spawns telling us, in barely understandable English, that SC is greedy and a bad company? :facepalm:

What keeps me going though, is the great community (especially at Off-topic), the awesome forum events, and the few gems in General that pop up once in a while. Like, for example, where did that Newsletter thread go? I loved reading them, :D

Here's the list of threads that get on my nerves for various reasons:

"NEW UPDATE IDEA" there's an ideas subforum holy ♥♥♥♥
"Where's the loot" content of the post "I never tried to change league to search it myself tbh"
"Unfair war matchup" "we are against a clan they have more TH10s none of them have heroes over 10 or any war troop upgraded how is this possible"
"[some ingame feature] is unfair!!!" Just stop crying or stop playing


And also when the 3 star Police starts throwing names on threads which slightly talk about GoWiPe

If a thread has a strange title and 0 replies, then I don't bother looking because it's usually spam. Some days I make lots of posts on threads I consider interesting, and other days there doesn't seem to be anything interesting to read or comment on.

I find the threads that inexperienced players make demanding Supercell change the game are the worst. Also speculation threads and people demanding boosts get old

I do like threads where a legitamate topic is debated. For example a few days back there was a good thread about TH trapping.
