I've noticed many th8s that finish all troop upgrades and max entire base(other than walls) and have nothing to spend elixir on. They go so far as to leave their elixir storages outside of their base because they have nowhere to use it. I think others would agree that being able to upgrade lvl7 walls to lvl8 with elixir would make the later stages of th8 not as boring, and more players would be willing to max walls before moving to th9. Thanks for your time.
It would also make it much more difficult for TH9s to get elixir for all those upgrades that cost 2-7M. They tried this before, and took it away because it made a large chunk of bases not worth raiding. Make more expensive armies or go up to TH9 so you don't waste the e.
I disagree. The reason it shouldn't happen should not be the fact that th9s would not have "easy bases" to get elixir from. It's always difficult to catch up while transitioning th level but just because it is hard at first doesn't mean we should make it easy by having lower level town halls hand out free elixir. This doesn't apply at any other th level and th8s have it hard enough as it is.

There's nothing to disagree about. They already tried it. It resulted in a lot of loot disappearing from the raiding economy, so much so that a lot of higher level players that spend money on the game didn't want to play anymore. So they changed it to Level 9+ walls only. This works because you still have to hold a decent chunk of E most of the time, whereas when you could upgrade lower level walls there were lots of bases that weren't holding more than 200 or 500k for long stretches of the game.
This request is brought up at least 3 times per week by players who can't look past their current situation to see how they benefit from it later on. You don't have to do your level 8 walls at TH8 either...upgrade to TH9 if you don't want to waste E.
I'm a th9 and not asking this for myself. Th8 is the ♥♥♥♥rty of coc and they have it rough enough imo. The game would not be ruined like you say. The game is kind of broken at th8 and they need a little pick me up.they get picked on by th9s too much and too easily, so th9 and above can start picking on people their own size if they want elixir.
Everyone gets picked on by higher levels until they're maxed. I never had a problem farming in crystal 3 at TH8 and got sniped 80% of the time or more. What you're asking for has already been tried, and they took it away because it hurt active players looking to raid too much. So they aren't going to just bring it back. The only way it might work is if you to have at least 1M E to buy a wall piece (it would still cost 500k)

It is not coming back. They tried it once, and elixir dried up from TH9 and up. If TH9 players can't get elixir, TH10 players can't get it either. There was an almost immediate elixir deficit which was caused by this, which was almost immediately rectified when they changed it back to the way it is now.
Make more powerful armies, donate more to your clan, use your elixir as bait, or go to TH9. Those are your options. Pick one.
I had to walk uphill in the snow, to and from every attack I had to do to get my skull walls. You'll spend gold on your walls and like it. Otherwise, just quit and let me take care of your collectors while you're away. :-)
This falls into the category of Rites of Passage; so many have had to struggle through it that it makes more sense to keep it than to change it. Does it suck getting raided by an AQ and lvl6 giants? absolutely! But we paid the lady, now so should you :-)
