The Neighbourhood House and the "In Derby" (Opt In) / "Not in Derby" (Opt Out) List
It would be great if the "In Derby" / "Not in Derby" displayed in the neighbourhood house was live during the derby cool-down period, so both an individual player and the team could easily see who has opted in or out of the upcoming derby.
Show who has OPTED OUT of upcoming derby in Log before derby starts
As a neighborhood co-leader, it is important for me to know whether or not members of my hood have opted out of the upcoming derby IN ADVANCE of when the next derby starts, and I would be so appreciative of being able to see this info in the derby log.
As it is now, as soon as one derby ends all we see is that everyone is 'not in derby'. Supercell - please modify this to instead report useful information to us, such as:
Opted In
Opted In
Opted Out
Opted In
Opted Out
Why is this important? Here's an example: say I have a member who was in our last derby yet didn't finish his or her tasks. They mention in chat that they got busy and will opt out before the next derby, but as a leader I have no way to know if they remembered to do this or were too busy to do so - until the actual derby starts. If this person forgets to opt out, then our 'hood has two weeks of derby impacted by their absence and everyone else is grumpy.
The only other thing we as leaders can do is boot them from the hood before the derby starts, but this is a drastic step that the cool opt out feature was created to no longer forces us to take (thank you Supercell). If you can give us info on who has opted in and out in advance of the derby start, then we would only have to boot a task-missing member if they had forgotten to opt out... something we would know.
This would help the entire neighborhood continue to enjoy each and every derby to the max.
Thank you in advance Supercell for reviewing this idea and implementing it if you can!

Yes, Feedback needed to confirm in/out status
Yes Sultanas - your idea underscores the current problem that now it is very difficult to tell whether you are opted in or opted out. The setting dialog does not help at all. We have had several people in our neighborhood think they had opted out but made mistakes and stayed opted in (which was a problem for the whole hood because they could not play that week).
There is one thing I have found so far to confirm one's own setting, and I set up the images over on the wiki:

Notice how clicking on the derby building looks different when one has opted out. But your idea of a color change is nice because it involves no action - you don't have to click or anything - you just see it.
That combined with my first idea of changing the Log status would be a super combo.
Thanks for the good ideas and support everyone.
Yes, Please - To All of the Above
That would also help leaders know who may have been opted in involuntarily so that the leader can try to handle the situation before the derby starts. Two weeks running, SC's system has opted in players in our neighborhood who had previously been opted out for weeks - a fact we didn't discover until after the derby had started and the player had not appeared to take tasks. In fact, a few of these players had not even played HD for a long time, and of course thought they were still opted out of the derby.
Of course Customer No-Support told me that the system could not possibly opt-in a player and that it was the fault of our players. It definitely was not. It has happened to us (and probably to other neighborhoods who just didn't realize that their neighbors were not taking tasks due to the fact that those neighbors thought they were opted-out but had actually been opted-in by the system). It caused us to be demoted from the Champions League, and now we're trying hard to get back up.
But nothing is ever SC's fault, according to them, and the system couldn't possibly do anything it wasn't intended to do. Huh. That is why there is a word for such - GLITCH.
