Do derby tasks vanish after a while when not picked?

Hello,

Our NH has a problems with derby tasks and it is very annoying.

Like most NH, we only select +300 points tasks so we often delete -300 points tasks to keep only a pool of +300 points tasks for our members

Problems is we often have tasks vanishing in ou derby taks pool...

Everybody can be trusted in our NH so we don't have a mole deleting +300 points tasks... We also make sure that only one person at a time delete the unwanted tasks

So my question is, do tasks vanishs automatically after a while or is there a bug affecting our NH?
It is already difficult to have +300 points tasks so it is very annoying if some of them vanishs for no reasons...

Perhaps no one can answer this except those in a single person NH.

It's not something I'm aware of in my 30 person NH, but if it was happening I wouldn't really know, I guess, because I'd presume someone trashed in error or enthusiasm. :)

We all trust each others and it happens so many times that it cannot be a one time accident.

Furthermore, there is no interrest for a member to erase the +300 tasks to penalize his NH and favorise an others NH he has no relations with...

Are we the only NH with this problem?

I am in a single person NH and I always save good tasks so that I have a choice at the end. I have never seen any disappear.

I haven't heard of this happening before yet and also haven't experienced this myself in game.

Another obvious possibility would be that people choose tasks from the selection on the board causing them to disappear. Some tasks for example a mining task can be completed in mere minutes so can a help task on occasions or a townie task if you happen to have your town loaded up waiting for such a task.

Or someone is trashing them because they don't like certain tasks and hope for better 300 point ones. The only way to find out would be to demote everyone except the leader of course and monitor it. And also keep tabs on the tasks that people choose.

We were all co-leaders in our 15 members NH....

I asked the leader to put back everybody as single members so the leader will be the only person able to remove the tasks...

We will see if it makes a change....

I realize it would be an inconvenience to do so however it would be the only way to find out.

If after doing so you all still experience this then please let us know or better yet file an in-game support request.

If this problem continues, consider the possibility that the leader is the one trashing those tasks.

Maybe it is all a glitch. Or neighbors are trashing tasks that they sincerely thought nobody wanted to do and now feel too shy about disclosing they trashed it.

Is your NH n the lead right now? If you've gotten all horseshoes and you have a commanding lead, maybe someone in your NH feels annoyed about the mandate to do all 300+ point tasks. They may feel it's unnecessary, and this is their passive-aggressive way of filing a protest.

If someone is doing it with mischievous intentions, then hopefully a NH-wide demotion will purge their urge to troll. But if this is the problem, I doubt it. The excitement of a mass-demotion will probably encourage them to escalate.

To give you an update... from the minute all co-leaders were back as simple members, no more tasks vanished.....

So either we have a mole in our NH, either having everybody as co-leader is causing tasks to vanish.... ;)

This morning, our leader promoted only two co-leaders because she cannot be online all day long. We'll see how it goes....

I hope this was some kind of bug because I cannot immagine someone secretly erasing +300 tasks... What would be the goal? Everybody is well integrated into the NH, everybody helps each others, everybody is doing it's 5 +300 tasks each week so it is even more surprising....

Thanks for the update. :) I do hope you can find the culprit eventually because with this information it seems very likely that someone is trashing them. It would be very useful to have lots of players who can manage the board and trash as the more that can be trashed the more likely you're find the high point tasks.

Now there could be any number of reasons why someone would still trash 300+ tasks other then for mole or troll reasons. In my neighbourhood for example lots of us are also in the trashing routine for tasks below 300 points. However I for one regularly trash 300+ tasks as well. Personally I like the board to have some variety so people find different types of tasks which suit their playing style. For example I really don't like the 320 boat task and not fond of the truck task either. So if there is more then 2 of each on the board of those I trash them to hopefully find a better variety.

Another reason I trash 300+ tasks could be towards the end of the derby when there is just not enough time to reasonably finish the task within the time that is left of the derby. In my opinion there is no point in having such tasks take up space on the derby board. A help task or mining task could be done reasonably quickly while a 6 boats task takes a minimum 24 hours just in waiting for the boat assuming no diamonds spending on calling them in. Or a goat milk or wool task or certain production tasks need more then a day or so to finish.

I play pretty much the same way. I trashed two 320 boat tasks the other day (I know... Horrors ) but none of us wanted to do anymore since they take so long and since there have been some really great tasks this derby. I never thought I'd love seeing a tofu dog task. It took me all of three minutes because I had so many stacked.

Another possible reason for someone trashing high point tasks is that they messed up and did it by accident and is too ashamed to admit it. Lots of people have accidentally trashed the task they were doing because their fingers were faster than their eyes. Of course that would depend on how often it happened. Maybe someone's kid got to their farm?
Glad it stopped though. At least for the time being.
