Alright Supercell, this is a going to be a little long winded, and I'm annoyed so it might not come out right but here goes.
I have dumped ALOT of money into this game especially at TH9 boosting and gemming u/g time on my royals. I now sit at 22/30 with 250 lavas. I am a clan wars player and have always attempted the 3* strategies.
I feel as though at high levels, TH9 and TH10, this game is broken.
Its gotten to the point where a precision attack has become anything but, things that didn't need "fixing" with AI, have made the game nearly impossible to predict:
1. Wall breaker AI sometimes works flawlessly, oftentimes they do something absolutely ridiculous negating a high level attack right from the get go. The AI used to be sketchy, but more predictable than this.
2. Golems have become unpredictable with redirecting, oftentimes they simply go on a walk around a wall with an open compartment next to them with a defence in it. It's become a nightmare.
3. Hogs used to turn on defending troops after the last defence went down, this is no longer the case and oftentimes will simply move to the next closest building while they are being hit on by the king and the skeleton's. I've seen this episode ruin many perfectly good hog raids over the last few months. They literally just stand there hitting a storage and will not for any reason turn around and attack the skeleton's. It didn't used to be this way, why did this happen? I've watched packs of 15+ hogs get chewed to pieces like this, again and again and again every single war.
4. The queen, your "problem child," is better in some ways, in others again it's gotten ridiculous. She now completely avoids jump spells like the plague, which didn't need to be "fixed." She still shoots at walls, albeit not as often, but it's much more unpredictable as to when it's going to happen. Today in my attack, she shot a builder hut literally one square away from a nearly dead defending dragon, turned away and started shooting another building. The dragon with a sliver left, nuked my golem. What has improved about her agro? The royals used to get agro' the second a golem in their range got shot or smacked. 6 months ago she'd have torn that dragon to shreds.
5. The building hit points did not need adjusting last update, it was hard enough already, now dropping a loon on an uncovered A/T no longer works. This has negated an age honoured skill of picking apart a poorly constructed base. You also added defences in the form of air sweepers and did not increase my camp space, thanks for that.
6. Troop agro: it's not better.
7. TH10 has gotten over the top, out of control defensively overpowered with the u/g cannons and a/t's and now new walls. When does this end? The gap between TH9 isn't a defence upgrade and a couple infernos anymore, a maxed out th10 is basically TH11.... They literally build giant boxes to put all their buildings in and it works just fine, base design at the highest level has become the creative masterpiece of a box. How do you three star one of these with the unpredictable/underpowered nature of the troops? A giant box with stuff in it, literally, and it works, wow. As a TH9 I can't even 2 star it.
8. With all the added variables like sweepers, skeleton traps, new spells, I don't doubt you're spending quite a bit of time and money trying to rebalance and make changes to fix AI, but you need to stop adding new variables or it's just going to become more unpredictable.
In conclusion: I'm not spending anymore money on this game as a result of the AI. I feel as though the bunny problem was indirectly created by supercell by making TH10 defensively overpowered, the AI unpredictable, and too many variables with agro/traps. I feel as though the robot problem has been indirectly created by supercell due to the amount of nexting that's required at the TH9+ level to find a dead base ->which are taken out of circulation by supercell. The company literally controls how much of your life you spend pressing the next button, thanks for that. It's not random at all.
If I sat down and had a good brainstorming session I could probably come up with quite a few other instances where the nature of the AI is unpredictable, sadly, it's not worth my time or my money anymore.
I no longer blame people for using robots or bunnies, I do resent them but I understand, it's pretty sad when this little phone game has had to resort to such measures due to its broken nature.
