Need tips on running multiple clans
I just have general questions and happy if any we're answered.
How do you manage your leadership across multiple clans?
Also, I'm wondering how you run your clans. Example, do you run 3 war clans or do you have the clans set up differently. Like a war clan, a farm clan, and a trophy pushing clan.
And my follow-up question would be what is the benefit of doing either one of those.
My clan is ready to expand so we need a sister clan. I'm still not sure how to do it, so I appreciate any advice.
Thanks!

Hi Flik:
I'm a leader of one of the six clans. Initially, there were 4 clans that split from a main clan (Farming Kings). The 4 clans had individual leaders who ran their clans according to the way they wanted except that we had a few basic similarities and rules. All of the clans give free troops to guests for example -- not fully open like the Request and Go clans but a few guests at a time by setting the clans to Invite Only. We also set requirements for each clan so they wouldn't overlap with the other clans. One is a war clan so they look for more war-oriented requirements. The other 3 are farming/war so one is for near-maxed TH10s, another for mid-level TH10s, and the third for late TH9 and early TH10. Then we added 5th and 6th clans for lower level THs.
While these sister clans (not feeders) are run independently on a day-to-day basis, the leaders of the six clans regularly talk to each other to make sure inter-clan relations run well. We have had family push seasons. Now we will all take part in the December to Remember Event in a couple of months as a family. Communication between the clans is important so we have a family chat where members from all six clans gather. Cordiality to one another is key as is a sense of family so that family clans don't feel pitted against one another.
When the 5th and 6th clans were opened up it was done one at a time with a 2-3 month setup schedule. A bunch of helper co-leaders and elders from each of the clans created the new clan and a set of rules that would be coherent with the other clans was implemented. New members were then recruited and the helper Cos/elders passed on the culture of the family to these new recruits. Eventually after a couple of months, a new leader/cos/elders were chosen from among the new recruits and the helpers went back to their original clans. Alternatively, if a Co from the existing clans wanted to become the new leader, they would have been asked to stay on as the new clan's leader. Funnily enough, no one wanted permanent leader and all wanted to return to their original clans.
This is one family's take on setting up a new clan and how inter-clan relations work. We've been a family now for over a year.
