Finding it difficult to recruit communicative team players

BTW, this is true running any clan. I also play WoT and am a member of a clan. The clan scheduled a series of clan war battles where you need 15 players to show up at a specific time. We have 87 members and about 20+ were online. Only 7 of us showed up. Same kind of thing -- you have members and they might even be good players, but if they don't show up, what's the point?

We may get to thinking, "if only we had the right people we could settle in and have some fun." But it takes a while to find members that fit. People will come and go, but if we resolve ourselves to managing that fluctuating process for a while it might help with the frustration.

I've also noticed that certain people lack personal confidence, and it shows. They may not be familiar with a mock war attack, but instead of asking questions, they think they can bluff their way through. Others will make up just about any excuse to avoid having to ask questions, or to avoid appearing ignorant or nervous. Maybe it's just human nature.

Maybe supercell will address this recruiting issue? That seems to be a part of the game they haven't ever addressed. Be nice if you could post in the game a set criteria that you as a clan were looking for in clan mates, and then potential clan mates could find you easier. If that makes sense? Currently, we don't know if someone coming in with a request is a spy or not. Might be rejecting good members out of fear of war spies.

Maybe supercell just doesn't realize clan recruiting is such an issue? the topic isn't talked about that much, other than the "help, how do I recruit" threads that appear daily.

I am co-leader of a clan that has been around almost 2 years. I have been in the clan since March 2014. I consider this our biggest challenge. I go on recruiting binges and I can usually add ten or so new recruits who say they are looking for what we offer. We get them on our forum, explain our rules and culture, and then 9/10 (or more) leave within a week or two. Often with almost no attempt to communicate with anyone in the clan. We go out of our way to engage them, encourage them, motivate them with topics-but nothing.

Our clan has lots of folks with very high donations of maxxed troops (7-8k per season). You would think it would be a dream for a TH 8 to get maxxed troops in the Clan castle in a matter of a few seconds-yet the turnover remains high. We keep around 35 core members, and routinely add and then subtract the new players. Rare to keep one more than a couple of weeks. We have discussed it often-the main driver appears to be age of the player. The teenage players just get bored and move on. Not sure how you convince them to stick around, learn about the game and reap the benefits of generous clanmates!

We don't want to include only adults-because we have a few teens who are awesome clanmates. A search tool to help find clans by minimum requirements and culture characteristics might help!
