Exact shape of Earthquake area of effect?

Does anyone know the EXACT shape of the Earthquake spell? I know the diameter of 8, but if you drop on a specific tile (or grid intersection), how does it calculate which tiles on the grid are damaged?

Also, I would assume that the math has the spell centered on a grid intersection. If this wrong, please explain how the center is calculated...

A square would make it easy to determine what walls will be broken. A circle, which is what I assumed (perhaps incorrectly), is harder - how do you determine which cells are destroyed when the grid is based on squares.

can anyone confirm the actual shape? If it's not a square, a diagram of the damaged cells would be helpful.

Are you talking about the radius of the circle?
