Lack of creativity.. Please Read

It seems since supercell was bought out they have released several medicore updates that should be implemented quickly so that players can get the most out of them. Several of these updates involves hot fixes to spells, or a troop overview button.

These aren't really gameplay updates, rather than reskinning features. Adding new leagues, etc, isn't an "update" rather than adding leagues that should've already been there for a long time. The gap of 2000 trophies between champs and the cap is a little to large when normal leagues are distinguished every 500-700 trophies.

Long gone are days when gamers of clash are presented with new troops, and gameplay functions, rather than with innovative, new ideas.

Forbes and many other companies have confirmed how much money clash of clans takes in - but rarely do we see the product of our investment - unless it comes in symbols many won't reach (I only got to 3700 trophies, couldn't stay online enough to keep them, in b4 noob comments, etc)

I would love to see Supercell do "hot fixes" and adjust the game as needed, and have 2-3 gameplay "updates" where major content is added to the game throughout the year.

But I digress, I am living in the fantasy days of year 1, where my hopes and dreams were crushed in year 2 and 3.

In the early days, they were trying to experiment with things. Now there is a set order of how they want things to be, and they don't want to just shell out unbalanced and lackluster ideas left and right. They want to keep it going in the right direction.

I think you're getting caught up in your own semantics of the word "update". You're saying because it's not a big change to gameplay that you're not considering it an update. Ok fair enough what would you rather them call their changes to the games? Should was say it's a "visual adjustment" or an "ocular change"?

My point I guess is try not to get caught up in or bummed out that you think SC isn't being creative enough for you, it's a free game afterall that no one is forcing you to play.

At the end of the day after this update release the game will be an updated version compared to previous content whether you want to call it an "update" or not.

One more thought. They stated at the beginning of this update that it wasn't going to be a big one and to expect something much larger in October. Take two chill pills and sleep on it.

Yeah, agreed... The new updates are just fixes... Most of the updates are towards fixing the mess they have created which should have been fixed a long time ago...

Apart from the Dark Elixir Spell upgrade I cannot remember any decent upgrade...

Many of the much desired and long asked ideas haven't been implement yet...

Give Lava Hound... Ohhhhh it's OP... Nerf them... Let's bring Air Sweeper... Ohhhhh 1 Air Sweeper is not enough, let bring another Air Sweeper...

So 2 updates to fix the mess created by 1 updated... Same goes for Dark Elixir Spell... Introduce them... Ohhhhh it's not working the way we intended to... Let's bring an update to balance them...

And I am pretty sure Poison Spell will be balanced again... So 2 more updates to fix the mess created by 1 update...

No new content added and 6 update released which account for more than 1 year... Amazing...

Some where Supercell has lost it plot of making an awesome game... They are just trying to churn out maximum money by investing the minimum resources and manpower..

SC is a business after all , making money is their game . The updates and changes I can deal with , some I like some I don't , but they do add variety so the game doesn't get too boring. The only issue I have is war match ups , I'd do something different if I knew how they picked opponents . For me the fun of war is gone.

no new content?? New content alone doesn't make an update. That's more of an "Add-on" if you ask me. But you didn't so back on topic. We just got 3 new spells no too long ago and I'm pretty sure it was made clear that we are getting something pretty big at clashcon.

Do something worthwile.

How can you guys crib so much,I mean you all are so incorrigible,you want new content and then are the 1st to criticise them, SUPERCELL wants to make this game balanced,and I think that's great, look for the positive side of things,stop playing the game if you are so critical of it(there are many other substandard clones out there).

+ even these guys are human and need to make some money.

Lack of creativity? Go on, tell us what you would add if you worked at Supercell!

If Supercell released troops willy-nilly like they used to, they worked out that some things were highly overpowered than others, and so they've had to get the balance right in order for the game to stay stable.

This is a SMALL update, not a big one. It's not meant to be. The next one will be the update everyone is talking about.

It takes considerable time and effort to create then implement any new thing much less an update. SC has to fit and test it all in the games space compatibles (phones and tablets).

Let the awesome minds behind SC do their thing, wish I had their skills ( and I bet they wish they had some of mine, they're just different ).

(never addicted to any game on a cell phone before, hard to put this one down)

I think the updates are pretty good considering it's a free-to-play game. Just because some of us spent money on this game does not mean we are entitled to big game changing updates all the time. Many people, myself included, easily spend $60 on a game but never demand a game changing update.

If game is good and balanced like its now, why people demand game changing updates? To make game bad? I think SC is doing good job adding things here and there and balancing things. Yes, i would like to have th11 some day, but i'm not fan of quests. One coc copy have quests and i hate them. Always "have" to do something to get reward, always "have" to do things in given time. Really annoying in long run.

I for one love how they update the game and I think it's key to why it's very successful. It is a strategy game, not a first person shooter where you run in guns a blazin'. Every troop and spell dropped is supposed to have a purpose (though I recognize many players just spam barch, but there is much more to the game than that). Just imagine if they did add 3-4 new dark troops, then more spells and dark spells. There are millions of players. Some of them extremely bright and capable to figuring out every loop hole in the game. It would take supercell months to try and recover from such a massive update. Which spell or which troop caused the unbalance? With 3-4 new troops with all the possible troop combos you'd struggle to figure out what needs balance. Even the small additions require updates and tweeks. They require those tweeks because they need to balance the game. They don't add new content to the game just to fill holes in a dark barracks. They add new content to provide new opportunities and ways to play. Each troop in the game provides a unique ability and aspect to the game. It's not all just window dressing. All the clash competitors just slap things into their games, sure some of them have interesting ideas, but over all the games are horrible compared to clash! Why do you think that is? It's because Supercell approach the game with careful balance. I think the game today is better than it's ever been. The few beefs I have will be taken care of this small update.

They really should have spent a lot more time on high cup play a long time ago.

Everything else I rarely have a problem with. No matter how small, the changes are normally useful after the dust settled and crying over.

Not saying they will succeed, but 2 major regular complaints are getting some attention in this update.

They were: poison spell killing CC diversity, and aggro radius too small causing too many kill squad fails.
There you go, changed. Fixed, we will have to see....

If SuperCell listened to the business advice of all the arm chair experts on this forum, they would have run the company into the ground a long, long time ago. People need to keep some perspective here. It's a FREE game and the views of this forum do not represent the majority of players out there. They base their decisions on data, not whims.

If you find yourself getting upset over updates or lack of updates you are taking this game too seriously.

They probably have new ideas, but they don't want to release it right now.

This update is just a preparation for the next big updatw which will be announced in ClashCon.

Lots of interesting points! My favorite is that they clear a million dollars a day. Now with that chump change, one would think SC could have game testers or invite high cup players to test out features for them (who would probably do it for FREE) before they were implemented, easily countering your "well we have to make it balanced" argument.

SC used to come out with a lot of content update, and I envisioned the game ending up with updates like WOW or Runescape. I never played them, just putting the game on that level.

SC has the time (2 months for tweeks and reskinned walls.. That's over 60 million that they grossed, people) and you're telling me they can't add relevant, brilliant features?

I only hold supercell to this standard, because I believe in supercell. If you want to cry about my opinion go somewhere else, I have just as much entitlement to an opinion as you do.

Revenue does not equal profit. Revenue is the amount of money a company generates before taxes and all expenses.

Not to mention SC is paying extra taxes (at least they did in 2013) to Finland

Never take games too seriously, I only take clash 5% serious. So when it will eventually die out or I get bored of it and decide to quit, I will have lost nothing of serious importance. When you invest 100% in a game you will end up disappointed in the end, always.

Supercell it would much better if you made the wall prices cheaper because at the moment prices are ridiculously high

In recent months, we had 3 spells added, and now we're having the EQ and Poison revamped. Lavahound is fairly recent, air sweepers are new defenses, the legend league tourneys, and most recently the magma walls.

Anyways, the is the appetizer update before the big clashcon update. There will be a bigger one then, or at least that's what SC told the big youtubers. This is kind of a hotfix update at the same time except for the lava walls (which will need adjustment to get used to)

Also softbank shareholds a majority of SC so they don't want to hurt their profit by messing something up by taking risks.

You want game changing updates? Look at all the uproar about the poison spell. People were rage quitting because it was (supposedly) OP and ruining the game. Yesterday someone was talking about rage quitting because they changed the color of level 11 walls! What's going to happen when SC really does release a game-changing update?

This is why they should have quests and more single player maps.

The OP has a point. With the amount of money they make they could easily have a daily quest and add more content while not really messing with the overall balance of the game.

I mean, you could do something like a daily quest where barbarians have 1k hitpoints and you need to beat x map for 400k gold and elixir.

The amount of money they make and their lack of content is really an issue, I think SC would do well to listen to people like the OP and not the fanboy "SC can do no wrong" crowd who are, frankly, a bunch of idiot children.

Sure DE spells are kind of cool, but do they keep you entertained, or are they just another tool that you will rarely use outside of wars?

And update tweaks shouldn't be ignored... Clashers ask for changes big and small everyday in the IFR subforum, and Supercell is delivering some of them, like the Tiebreaker and the controversial new design for lvl11 walls.

You're right in everyway. These are not 'GAME CHANGING UPDATES' but merely 'enhancements', 'tweaks', 'add-ons'.

Lets wait for clashcon to announce the new 'game changing' update, then well know for sure how good it'll be...
