I am doing sculls 53 left out of 225 walls. We r bleeding elxr so much. My def log says i lost 2.5 mil elxr in 2 weeks. But i also gained so much storage always full with dark and elxr but not gold ;) 100% lab already completed. :) so th9 is just 7 days far away. If you r talking about variety i love gowipe. You can use valk also, i have max valk :p. So many options are available use ur mind. Happy th8 days. Th9 is coming.
Since th9 is so fun wouldn't it be better to stay in th9 for 10 months rather than 4 in th8 then 6 in th9?Quote:

I started a mini just so I could get it to TH8 and enjoy war again. Maxing really isnt that hard if you dont stuff around.
If you are worried about elixir stick it out and donate it to the noobs, no big deal.:thumbsup:
You are not meant to stay at TH8. It is balanced. Get in, get it leveled up, and move on.

You know. I never once complained about the time sink. I did complain about a surplus in resources. And it was due to the option of leveling walls with elixir being removed. I did mention the ramp up in defenses taking considerably longer I think if you do the math build times for defenses at 8 are about 20% longer. But that's compounded by another drill and three more levels.
A lot of replies are from people who suffered through it. Some who didn't mind, some claming I'm upset as to how long things take - which I will address once more. I don't care about that what I do care about is having a huge resource surplus that was once used to bolster walls. Which is now intended for th9 players to raid me for. Rather than finding a more balanced approach. A lot who are telling me go rush to 9 which solidifies the issues at 8.
And a lot of rude, rude people who made me sad. And lash out. And that made me angry. Shame on you. Shame on me for acting the fool.
Someone asked why I stood up to a mob dogpiling me when that should be reason enough to become conviced I am wrong. I stand up for what I think is right. I have my scruples, and if a forum full of people told me to jump off a bridge I'd laugh at them, as they're plummitng to their death.
Dirk I agree it would be nice if there was a balance in how you could spend all 3 resources at TH8, especially near the end.
I don't think elixir on walls is the answer, though I sure would have taken advantage of it if it was available to be back then.
Though in the end, I think the surplus elixir at end TH8 is just one of those minor inconvienence we clashers have to deal with.
Though when your do hit that TH9 upgrade you will be happy to have 6M in the elixir storage for the lab, spell factory, 4 army camps, 6 drill lvl upgrades, 4 DB upgrades, 2 DB storage upgrade and possibly your first troop upgrade when the lab is done if you haven't spent it on the stuff I already mentioned.

A couple ways I did this:
One:
Once I started being free of elixir needs I increased my elixir consumption. I started using loonion heavily and also donating expensive troops to my clanmates.
Two:
I also mainly raided storages at that time due to my need for gold and de so I would hit a base ignoring how much elixir was available because I didn't need it. If a base had gold and or de I hit it. If I noticed my elixir dropping enough I would switch to barch to get it back or just as a break from loonion.
Three:
I ran a de base that works rediculously well. I can pm u if u want it.
Four:
Trust me. It's much more enjoyable to be able to raid freely and not worry about elixir. Trying to save elixir is a pain.
