SC, what's your beef with TH8?
You've made it the dullest transition to endgame by limiting options for offense to just Golem and Pekka. While they are essential stepping stones for hybrid attacks in war, you've demonstrated to be completely naive to the war meta. So I refuse to accept that.
2 levels of defenses.
2 teslas that require 3 levels.
1 tesla requiring 6 levels.
Massive undertaking in resource farming given the offensive farming prowless to farm the required DE to finish labs at this level. And I get it, there are some of you who are gaming superhumans. That's why you're on the forums. If a developer could show you the telemetry of the average player, the power user, and the insane min maxer, there may be an obvious discrepancy between the three. Then again, their studio most likely lacks the resources, despite their monumental profit margin. (And also being based out of a country that takes the lions share out of anyone's earnings in taxes, it may be understandable) Which is why most people suggest moving to 9. 8 is a barrier.
We can all agree 8 is a barrier. Those who remain there are doing so out of loyalty for their clan, or their love of the game, and the meta to learn hybrid attacks step by step, in a sort of 80s-90s capcom/konami kind of way. To you, I raise my glass. <3
This recent update, at least with poison has mitigated the effectiveness of the only surefire way to mitigate skeleton traps chasing hogs. Which is in my opinion the only competitive strategy for late TH8. Luring skeleton traps, while also guessing DGB locations, and juking wizard towers may serve to forge TH8s into solid TH9 players...but at the same time, there have been too many measures to push most players forward, and into peril, into TH9, where he/she will be overwhelmed with the strategies and blowback one may receive rushing this far. TH9 to a TH8 with little experience is sensory overload for someone whose serious about war. One must be eased in.
I do however think that there are a couple of things that could remedy this problem.
Witches, should be TH8. Should level 2 at 9. And reach 3 by 10.
The option to use gold OR elixir for skull walls should be reinstated. TH8, no matter how you sell it to me, is a huge gold sink. Comparatively TH9 isn't as bad. I understand there are two levels of walls. But the ability for a TH8 relies on fat 7s, and collector raids for inactive 7-9 bases which quite frankly has dried up, but that's anecdotal as someone will tell me to farm at 3am EST (HAH!). Whereas 9's have the luxury of bolstering their walls based on the surplus of elixir TH8s possess, and walls simply become an activity grind, rather than a dedicated, walls or defenses grind. Troops don't cost much after 8. You may be saying that T8s have the same luxury, but they really don't. a 1-300k offer from a TH7 from an 8 is almost non existant (talking elixir) and gold, forget it.
NO BEEF. Game is fine the way it is.
