Hi all! So I'm relatively new to the forum here, and just recently decided to start a recruitment thread to try and get my clan(s) growing faster. I've had one person join and later leave, so it got me wondering: For those who have used the forum either to recruit or to join a clan, how successful have you been at finding members/clans that made a good fit for you? What experiences could you share about that? Looking forward to hearing back from you all!
As with anything getting your team set to those that fit like a well worn glove - it takes time. We have a recruitment thread and get many that come through - but some are just testing the waters and others just dont fit in. But some become beloved members and stay on. You have to be patient. Update your recruiting thread with fun tid bits about your clan (Ie: We made clan level ____ or congrats to Member _____ for being the best donator or WOW we just won our 3rd war in a row etc. things that will catch people eye and also keep your thread alive - just bumping is less desirable in my opinion)

You can respond to your own thread once a day with something as simple as "Daily Bump!" and that'll get some more eyes on you're page. However, you'll most likely get more recruits by visiting the "I need a clan" sub-forum and sending messages to the folks there. Recruitment, like everything else in Clash, is a grind. Being a new clan amongst the sea of clans in that forum if you do get a member it's usually someone who hasn't been on the forums long or may not even have a post. It's better than global I guess, but unless you have an absolutely awesome clan already you probably won't be attracting good players.
Also I will say from my standpoint when I see clans updating their threads with stuff about wars they just won or how many great people they have, blah blah blah, same canned rhetoric as anyone else, I tend to tune them out. Same goes for those who can only be bothered to post "daily bump!!"
Put some thought into your initial post. What can you do to stand out from the other clans. Simply putting "no rushed bases", "back to back war" or similar things make you blend in with the rest. Is there at least one unique characteristic your clan has over the others? If there is I would promote that.
Put thought into your bumps as well if you can. Don't use canned statements about how many members you got or how many wars you've won since your last post. State your purpose for why you're here don't beat around the bush like some kind of salesperson.

Usually you get solid candidates from the forum. By far it is much better than global. But once in a while you get some weird ones like this guy ...

smolson - Yeah, I figured it'd be as much of a grind as global (requiring even more patience due to the forum rules to prevent spam), the main advantages being an advertisement that doesn't simply disappear after a few minutes and (at least typically) new members. I definitely did try to put some good thought into my post, keeping the title short yet descriptive, with (what I consider to be) a well-written initial post. Even combining all those things, however, I know the chances are slim. Mostly what I'm wanting to know is how slim. And if there's any insight from those who've been recruited over on the "I need a clan!" subforum about which method is more effective.
Johnnysks - It's an unfortunate part of the internet. Pretty funny to see people get so bent out of shape about little things, but what are you going to do?

Perhaps for the first few bumps, but honestly after 10+ pages no one's gonna read your bumps or care about whats in them. Any thoughtful/useful information should just be edited into your main post.Quote:
