New Soup Kitchen

Does anyone else think this updated soup kitchen does not fit in and looks awful?

It looks like it was yanked out of a barbie doll house. YUCH. The old one had a rustic feel that fit right in on the farm. This thing sticks out like a sore thumb.
otoh, the pasta kitchen looks like they downsized it.

I do happen to be very fond of turquoise.

I have noticed that it seems to make it harder to see when your soup is ready though.

I preferred the original soup kitchen because it looked vintage and homey. Now I need to find a hiding place for this new one because it does not look on my farm like it belongs.

Haven't a clue what may have prompted the change, but from one who prefers the original rustic looking one I hope this doesn't portend future upgrades to other machines as well.

IMO part of the HD charm was the look which evoked childhood memories of the love, affection, & incredible food that centered around Great Gran's kitchen which was dominated by a gigantic iron stove, pie safe, flour box, sideboard & the like.

I guess I'm becoming an old dinosaur, but as much as I like my modern conveniences, I don't want or need kitchen fixtures which coordinate with my nail polish...in real life or my HD game. Guess this machine will go into hiding now too.:rolleyes:

Ladyj, im with you. The new kitchen is cute, but the older one was quaint and my preference. This one is to cartoony.

Where has the table gone from the Pasta Kitchen? I want my table and purple tablecloth back!! I worked hard for that starred tablecloth and Fred and Hilda looked oh-so-cute having their romantic dinner. Why, oh why was that changed? And as for the soup kitchen, the new visual sucks. Why do SC insist on fixing things that aren't broke?

Sad to say that I did not realise it had changed...... Note to self..... Pay more attention! :) Now I've seen it I'm disappointed that my achievement star appears to be missing.

I've planted a few trees around the new soup kitchen to partially hide it! Hope they are not going to change the old machines one by one to the new Barbie look, or (and this would be so cool) give people a choice between the 2 models.
