When you explain things this way the first time it makes readers understand that you are not just another person complaining about mismatches who has no idea what they're doing.

However, you do have some problems when you war with anything below th8. The difference in th levels is too much and can really throw off matchups. Good idea with lower level accounts, but you only need 1 or 2, otherwise you lose too many vital attacks. In my clan we have 1 th8 with max offence but no defence. Works great.

Could you also tell me how well upgraded your bases are? They could be a little rushed and be causing problems as a result. All bases should have max defence and offence from previous town hall and max walls, except for th10s which should have all legos. If not, then you have rushed bases and have found your problem.

But just from a simple view:
As far as we know the algorithm is looking for clanswight average, and defensives counting way more than offensives.
So we all know these types of players: get T9, instant upgrading X-Bows. Results in facing heavier opponents, what might means they got stronger troops.
Back at my old clan we had 5 people at the edge to T9 within a time range of about 3 weeks, 3 of them instant upgraded x-bows, told them a thousand times not to do, but too late.
Since it's been holiday season and we've been a small clan, it was about taking these fresh 9ers to war or don't start any war.
So we took them in and searched - been the hardest wars I've been in, all wars opponents were slightly stronger than us. But nothing heavy mismatched. That time we did 50% win rate.

And clanlevels say nothing, I'm in a Level 2 clan by now, facing a level 7 clan.
Just checked offense of a few peoples and their mirrors, all positions I took a look, we got the stronger offense, also we got one T10 more and on last T9s, we got the stronger one.


A big range of tiers can also throw off the algorithm, you may get 1-2 better players at top, but missing them at bottom, so higher players need to waste some attacks the lowers cant bring.
On a basic thing it's a good idea, but can end critically wrong.

You haven't said exactly who was in this war, but if all your top ones were that would be:
6 TH10
12 TH9
2 TH8
2 TH7
2 TH6
2 TH5
2 TH4
2 TH3

If some of the top 18 were missing it still seems like it would be a similar profile; but maybe 3 each of the lower TH. It's hardly surprising the system is finding it hard to match this; it's a very odd profile. There's probably no similar clan searching. SC can't magic another clan with such an odd combination into existence to suit you.

I may have got the wrong end of this... but it seems what you are saying is that you are deliberately including a particular collection of THs in order to gain an advantage in war?
And then... when you actually have a disadvantage, you complain on here, that although you know exactly what you are doing, the system is broken and is being unfair to you. People reading what you wrote, might come to a different conclusion

If you are including a crazy combination of TH to gain a better match and then consistently get bad matches, best option would be to stop the nonsense with the low TH and just aim for a "normal" collection of players. That gets - mostly - sensible matches because there are millions of similar clans out there.
