Is there a way to win defense from Townhall 9 GIBARCH attacks?

I'm a almost maxed th8 and I always get crushed by townhall 9s with AQ and level 6 GIBARCH army. No matter what defensive base I used, I always get crushed by those th, even if they're AQ is below level 5. Level 6 giants are so overpowered with the heal spell or with the healers.

I've used youtube bases from anti giants, labyrinth etc bases and still same results.

My defensive towers are: all maxed mortars, wiz towers, adts and cannons, 3 level 10 and 2 level 9 archer towers, 3 level 5 teslas with one currently upgrading to level 6 and 1 level 2 air sweeper.

level 4 clan castle (dragons and balloon inside but most of the time, wizards and archers) and level 10 Barbarian King

Anyway, sorry for the long post. I just want to tell how I'm experiencing and hope to hear from you guys.

You can win if the attacker is bad, or doesn't have heal spells/healers

Otherwise no not really. Find a league where you get crushed less (either pretty high so you get sniped for bonus, pr pretty low to get attacked mostly from TH7s/8s)

You won't be able to defend a good attacker with TH9 GiBArch, but you can make it hard for them, ensure the CC has Loons and/or a Drag in it, and make sure you have a good base.

There are some great base on the base design area of this forum.

Step 1- Never use youtube bases... Everyone uses them so everyone knows how to beat `em. Come up with something original.

i usually ask for a dragon and a balloon once i get offline, our clan is level 6, so if anyone donated troops it will be a 1+ level. so your suggesting that i only ask for maxed balloons?

like i said i almost tried most youtube bases, probably the attackers i've encountered are really good attackers.

by the way i'm in crystal 3 league.

When I was a TH8 I preferred more compartment style bases. I ran a farming base called The Golden Planet posted by Bourbon. Served me very well. The poster above is right on. High level balloons will wreck those giants if they go in hot and don't support them.

I also climbed to crystal 3 to entice more TH snipes and placed decorations around the TH. Attackers dont have to worry about possible traps.

Have you seen how atrocious dragon DPS is? It does nothing against giants under a heal spell. Max loons, on the other hand..

Since I'm in silver3 I haven't been attacked by a TH9 GiBarch yet
Or a TH9 at all

As far as I could see anywhere from mid-high silver to gold is pretty dangerous because no huge bonus for sniping + a lot of TH9s lurking around

ok, there's no way a th8 can defend to th9? same like th8 to th7 and so on?

got it now. i thought once i reached maxed th8 ill be good, lols!

i think i'll try using some of the base designs here, not sure if i tried once before but most of the base i used are from youtube. anyway thanks for the suggestion!

You will always be the prey of higher level THs. Unless the attacker is bad attacking, you will always lose.:(

As several have said, th9 has a big jump up from th8. But here are a few tips that might save you....

don't run a compartment style base...even with level 8 walls (which I think are the first level of walls that help, anything less and they are useless) you won't survive. You need to funnel the Giants into spring traps and around your defensive structures so they can fire on those Giants as long as possible.

Getting sniped does help

as mentioned above...profit. If you have nothing to take they won't raid you. I'm not sure where you are in development and if you are ready for th9, but logging off with resources should be the last thing you do. Spend it first.

You are right. The key is not to have to defend. Make a great base with the centre walls 6 tiles away from de as that is your most valued resource. Try and not have weapons to close to the wall that draws them in. Open base like a anti gowipe as Giants are small golums. U get the idea.
The not have to defend bit. Time your builders and farm everything u need in one session. Job done

Lol how much is the archer queens shoot radius. It's 5 tiles. Think about it no super queen has taken mine even with 17 healers. As for not defending, we all know in a 4 hr session we can farm 6 mill easy, that my friend is only 2 lvl 10 walls.. If u want to see it for yourself it's endle185 altar of nobels. Most of r members have the hyper cube base. Good de defence

I can say only that you must have a clan of bad players. Giants will get to it fast enough

I use super queen a ton. I guess I'd have to see what goes in that 6 squares. In my experience it's far better to just funnel the troops away. If you have a large box in the middle all it takes is one jump spell and your de is gone. While funnelling the queen around the base will keep your de safe.

i'm nearly maxed th8 but my walls are not yet, currently i have 70+ level 8 and the rest are level 7. i will try to use a farm base created from here, right now im gonna try the noble river base.

also, been trying hard to create a base you suggested.

i already accept now that as a th8 i am an easy prey to th9 and even to th8.

12 giant heroes +4 wiz and barch is an easy 3 star with spells

Good relpy and u know what I mean. Yes a jump spell needs to be taken, but a lot don't use them, please don't tell everyone.lol

Nothing much a TH8 can do against a TH9 army with L6 giants and heal spells. Funneling the troops may bounce some giants off, but if they come with both strong heroes, its GG in the core.

Of all the +1 TH attack (TH8 vs TH7, TH9 vs 8, 10vs9), I feel this is the worst one, for losing a huge amount of loot, using an average/cheap army cost (Gi-barch).
TH10 can roll TH9, but require expensive DE army. Using the same Gibarch will only lose 50% max most of the time.

Solution:
1) TH out in corner, decorated. Unprotected. Hope for a quick snipe
2) Climb up higher trophies where people want your TH for loot bonus
3) Make sure each session you online, make a few attacks, and be able to lose 300k each (worse case scenario)
4) Continue farming or max your base, then move to TH9

I believe it depends mostly on the Attacker. If your opponent uses lvl6 GiBarch with the right funneling and Spell placement, I personally think there's no way to defend against that. Sure, you can stop them from 100%ing your base, but either way a well executed TH9 GiBarch could always sweep any TH8's loot.

This is just from personal experience, though. I always got my full Storages raided by TH9s regardless of the base design, and now I can take any TH8's resources with the same strategy.

I've always seen good results against anything giant based with a valk/wiz mix in castle. From my and the th8s & 9s experience for an 8 4 wiz a valk and a goblin works pretty well although with poison sometimes 2 valk 2 wiz works better. for a th9 I've always and still prefer 2 valk 3 wiz and 2 goblin.....poison rarely works well against the varying speeds. I've seen th8s hold up to th10 go arches with this setup and a hard but not impossible to lure castle with a lot of junk buildings in front of defenses to seperate the Giants from their backup.

Have a spread out base with the defenses away from the loot, to separate the giants from the other troops. Or, have many wall compartments, which will stop GiBarch but is more vulnerable to hog attacks. The only time I fail at GiBarch is when my wallbreakers fail to break through.

Short answer NO

Only way to defend is to not have any loot. A "defensive win" at TH8 is nothing more than a failed attack.

Put max loons/wizards in your cc. Use as many spring trap funneling as possible and hope for the best. You're always going to be beaten by a townhall above you, unless the attacker messes up.

Go to th9 and get a head start on your queen and lego's. Your storages will always be empty. TH8 is terrible for farmers. You stand no chances on th9 attackers.

A good th9 with experience doing gibarch will wreck you all the time, the same goes for th9 vs th10...

Yeah, not much can be done. But that is good. A decent TH 9 should be able to beat any TH 8. Far as I am concerned, a TH 8 crushed by a TH 9 should happen, and it is a somewhat moral victory if the TH 8 kills off most of the troops and or forces the TH 9 to have to use spells to get by. I will hate to see defenses ever reach a point that it becomes a struggle and incredibly difficult for a higher TH to beat a lower TH level. This whole defense mentality of being able to build a base that wins ALL the time, no thank you.

Let me ask you this OP, have you ever seen a TH7 base you couldn't smash up with gibarch as a TH8? I'm TH8 and i havn't. If i have my King there's no chance, the base is going down and all the loot. Without the King i get most or all of the loot most of the time. I'm assuming it's the same for TH9's picking on us. Having said that, sit at just below 2000 trophies, i've been here for weeks and not 1 full on attack. Everyone sniping to get those crystal league gems i'm assuming.

EDIT: i forgot about the CC. CC is the only thing in my experience that can stop a gibarch dead in its tracks, as i'm sure you know since you carry cc troops when you log off. If they forget to kill it they are in trouble, other then that.....

Search for Ashe Hypercube. I had an variation of it for TH8 but my net is slow and I will not build it again.

Take some wizards in your CC and make it unlurable. You will find that most TH9 attackers are over-confident and forget to draw CC

i'm a relatively new th8, around 2 months in. same thing happen to me too at the beginning. now i think the last time th9 gibarch hit me was around 3 weeks ago, mostly snipe now. what i did was to never hold more than 500k gold at a time when i'm breaking shield, and to leave a builder free to dump those gold into walls. now all my defenses are still max th7 levels but i got 90% skulls. even with my mediocre defenses, those skulls somehow intimidate them, plus with puny gold offering to them, they just nexting past me.

Even a bad th10 attacker and you are safe!
usually I can break the de storage of any th8 without king and queen with just gibarch + one rage + one jump.
What is your league now?
honestly the best defense for you is pushing to crystal and higher leagues. then people more snipe you.

There is one way, to keep no loot when you log off. Just dump all your gold into walls, DE into heroes and lab, lix into anything else. A completely maxed TH8 cannot stop a new TH9 from wrecking you, but a TH8 with no loot will not lose loot to even the maxest TH10 attack.

Of course, most TH8 will think that leveling defenses would protect you, but getting wrecked is part of the game and no defense level is ever safe, until you're TH10 (because there's no TH11). So learn early that the best way to protect loot is not have any in the first place

Just get a base with more compartment and a deep cc

it is hard to defen against a good attacker plus heal spell it is almost hard to defense against it

this. if ur almost maxed out then u might not need elixier anymore.
im almost maxed out aswell and i have my golem on 2 already. now im upgrading the rest of my elixier troops, so i dont need dark elixier anymore and also not much elixier.
im farming with GoWiVa. so im staying low with dark elixier.
when i get too much elixier i switch strategy to GiWiWB with all spells to keep it down.
im below 1200 trophies and i get sniped most of the times.
