Hey everyone, my clan had a LONG losing streak and we were able to fix it by splitting up our wars into two smaller teams.
It was 10 & 15 for us, you war less which can be good or bad BUT you do win. We haven't lost a war since switching to this technique.
As long as all your members at war attack, you can usually win wars that have 15 or less members.
Lemme know what you all think and post your own ideas to help the frustrated clan leaders out there!

So true! But not only having smaller wars... but having smaller wars with more reliable members. So frustrating starting any sized war with a bunch of hoppers or people who don't follow war rules. Good to keep wars small to recover from a bad war log :thumbsup:Quote:

I have no idea if this would work, but what about pairing people up together in a mentor type of situation. You don't have to do it for everyone. Just a few to start, and see if the idea catches on.
My clan did something like this for defenses, we had all our co leaders sit down together and go through everyone's war base to fix little problems here and there. keeping the enemy from gaining stars is just as good as attacking for them.Quote:

Agreed. Reliable members are a MUST, best to have a way of communicating outside of the CoC app too. A lot of my members are real life friends so I can always text them about it, but I've seen clans use the kik app a lot in order to communicate.Quote:

We added more members and started going with 30v30 or larger. Since then, 6-1. Most wars are even with a few being in our favor.
We also kicked every rushed base or made them go to farm clan.
In game communication leaves much to be desired. Apps like BAND make discussions quite a bit easier. It's probably better that it's an outside app. If such a thing were implemented in game we'd be blocking global chat trolls constantly.Quote:

Honestly, a whole guide could be written about how to properly construct a winning war clan. Going down to 10v10 or 15v15 wars usually does help in clans that are struggling to consistently win wars, but its usually just a side effect of the real problems that kept your clan from winning previously being diminished. They are still there, and you will still lose because of them from time to time, but you will win more often than you were. This quick fix is just a band-aid solution, and eventually 10v10 wars get boring, so if you want to get into bigger more interesting wars in the future I would suggest fixing the problems at their root.
Simply going down to 10v10 wars will not work for every clan either, because sometimes the problems are too big to cover up.
10v10 and 15v15 wars are easy to plan and execute . Its much more easier to assign enemy bases to members unlike the other crowded wars . Our clan has 20 members and we are doing the same strategy . Doing 10v10 wars with some 15vs15 wars in between . Now our clan is lvl 3 :) . The only negative is that the clan xp only increases slowly . But if you have patience and time, this strategy is very effective for winning continuous wars and leveling up your clan slowly.
BAND is the best communication app outside of Coc by far, I have used kik, kik messenger, and line, but band is by far the bestQuote:

3.Incorrect Base Upgrade Order- You should be upgrading your offense before you even think about upgrading your defense. You use the in-game chat to coordinate attacks instead of much better tools such as Bindle, Line, GroupMe, Kik, etc. If you do use these tools then only a part of your clan actually utilizes them while the others don't even have it downloaded. Coordinating clean up attacks is a nightmare and frustrates your leaders. These issues magnify themselves the more people you have warring, 10v10 its not so bad, but 25v25 is simply a horrible exercise in futility. This is not even mentioning the people who do not use all of their attacks in war on a semi-regular basis.
An organized clan has a clear vision for how they want a war to play out, from the times they choose to search for a matchup, to who attacks who when. They make it mandatory to download communication and organisation apps if you want to war with the clan. Clean up attacks and attack strategies are much more clearly and easily communicated as a result. Badly rushed bases are not allowed to participate, most especially Town Hall 8 and up bases, as in mixed level clan wars, the top bases carry much more responsibility than if everyone was at the same Town Hall level. Anyone who does not agree with the clan's vision is not allowed to participate in clan wars with the clan. Whether they refuse to use the correct army compositions and Barch bases inside a war, they refuse to download any outside organisational apps, or whether they are not active enough and do not use both of their attacks consistently.

we have about 35 members in our clan but it is always on 15v15 war everytime and the same few people. the rest just farms and helps to keep the clan active.
working adults and unlike kids have a life outside of clash so the farmers helps

While I doubt I have the same level of experience in this as a lot of you, I thought I'd throw my two cents in having had a similar situation. We were having a bad, and I mean BAD losing streak for a while. I mean, we won ONE out of 14 wars before we got out of our slump (this after a seven war winning streak). We did finally break our streak, and now are winning at least half our wars, and that percentage has generally been increasing. Bear in mind, this is a low-stress clan, with more focus being placed on having helpful, dependable people than having people who are great at getting stars--that can always be worked on over time. Here are the two things we did:
- We closed our group and made a feeder for new members to come through so we had tighter control on who could join the clan (or rather, we converted our non-functioning farming clan into a clan for screening potential new members). This had the added benefit of activating our other clan as it gave the clan a more clear purpose.
- We got stricter with our rules to stay in the clan. Getting rid of inactive players can be as important as finding new, good players.
I honestly believe the biggest impact of all of this was it made a significant change, giving members hope. I believe that sometimes it's not as important what you change as that you change something, and it has to be something that at least seems impactful.

We started a 3 war a week system with different set ups. We have 1 full clan war (TH6-TH9), 1 TH9/TH8 war, and 1 TH7 war. The TH7 war has from 1 to 5 TH8 that help with defensive troops, and make a chance to win. (A TH7 war only, equals 99% of the time, a draw.)

You need a couple generals who are on a lot to direct the clan. Let guys make their own decisions on attacks and strategy until they show they're incapable need directed on what to do. Post mail only when it is important. Don't let guys attack unless they have a realistic shot at a three star their first attack. Working from the bottom up is the best if schedules permit. It gives your mids a chance to climb if opposing lowers and mids are taken care of. All members need to take both turns obviously. I like to call our attacks quality attacks if they're something that is appropriate given the opponent's base layout. A non quality attack and a leader needs to step in and let the member know why it wasn't considered a quality attack (ex. someone hogging with lightning spells or going drags + golems). Make members "clean up" in war by dropping down a few spots to insure all possible stars are won. If there is a weak base that is ranked higher, let one of your mids climb and take him out for a two or three star. One, it rewards your mids and it definitely helps you. You leave that two or three alone until the end (uppers save their second attacks, sometimes both, until the latter half of the war) of the war. If you need that one star, attack it, if not, don't. If their #1's defense is leaps and bounds better than your offense, don't attack it unless it's necessary. We've went through wars not attack their #1 at all and still won.

I'm not really sure but from what I've observed, match ups are based on TH and individual levels of the players rather than the clan levels. Sooo, a newly upgraded th would do well to stay out of the war first until buildings and resources that's necessary for the war are upgraded to levels that could be accomodated by the th level. this is just a theory anyway.. :)
My clan is having trouble with wars, it SEEMS like the opponents top 3 members are ALWAYS stronger than our top 3 members. Then we have trouble with our lower members basically being useless. I do my best to try and find fixes to this but it just ends up the same pretty much every war. I understand matchmaking isnt the problem and its my clan, but im the leader so its my job to fix it and its my blame.
We typically have 3 TH9s, then 5 th8s, then 2 th7s that are in the clan wars. We have tried 15v15, 20v20, 25v25 but its just such a mess because we have rushed th10s and then as low as th5s so we dont like to add that mix into it.
We typically can only get 1 star on their #1 and then struggle to get even 2 on their #2. Then we are about 2-3 stars on their #3. After that we can clean up the rest but thats only if we leave the top 2 alone and shift down our attacks. (our 1 attacks their 2&3, our 2 attacks their 3&4, our 3 attacks their 5&6..etc). So this obviously leaves NO room for error and it really doesnt work because 10v10 wars are usually 28 star wins. so we struggle. Any thoughts or ideas how i can adjust? i can have you join and look at our logs to have further knowledge into this if needed. thank you in advanced
