Master / Champ loot bonus farming?

I am going down the TH8.5 route and have upgrade all of the elixir buildings ie , camp, barracks , spells , drills etc....
and was wondering if pushing to masters / champs and relying on the loot bonus is going to be a good idea.

The army i would be using would be gibarch, ( lvl 6 giants, lvl 5 Barb + arch ) and at most 1 heal spell ( means i can attack every 20 mins )

am i going to find enough base's that i can 1 star with the composition or will i be constantly nexting to the point im actually losing gold?

My main reason for pushing up there would be to concentrate on gaining gold for walls ( as a TH8 i decided id do lvl 8 walls at TH 9 - now at 125/250 ) and also to get enough DE to have 1 hero upgrading at all times and the DE troops upgraded.

What do you guys think? is this a feasible farming method?

I've been doing it with 240 troops and 5 zaps (for mortars or to hit an altar/hut to get to 50% if needed) for about 6 months now. Take snipes when I can, barch for 50 when it is possible. Being a th9, I bet you will find a decent number of th8s to snack on while you go.

gibarch should be fine in the lower crystal leagues. Plenty of TH8s and exposed THs to snipe. masters is a different story. I think I switch from gibarch right around masters 2. That's just me though.

I am a TH9 hardcore-farmer (only lavas and heroes left to max) who just went to M3 for the first time this past week, I hung around there for about a week, and have now gone back down to Crystal and will probably go back to Gold 1. The reason I have gone back down is because the loot is WAY better down there!

I encountered VERY few snipes, and maybe one TH8 out of every 30 or 40 nexts. Almost every snipe I encountered was trapped by at least teslas, so expect to use a lot more troops to take it. Any TH8's I did encounter had no loot so I was just relying on the loot bonus which if you are a good farmer, really isnt that good. Any TH9's that actually did have good loot (which there weren't many of those either) were very well protected, so expect to bring a serious army (which again eats away at your profit)

Overall I was very dissappointed with M3, perhaps if I would have gone up to M2 or M1 it may have been different, but like I said earlier, the loot (even DE) seems to be better in Gold /Crystal
