Idea for better clan war matching
Say a clan has 42 members. Under the old matching rules, the system would exclude the lowest 2 trophy count players and proceed to find a 40 by 40 match. Under the new rules, however, there is the possibility of opt out. Say that 4 players have opted out, so that 38 are available for war. Who goes to war? This is the responsibility of the (co-)leader who starts the war. Assuming opt outs are respected, three more players should be left out so that the clan goes to a 35 by 35 war.
But who is going to be left out? This being the (co-)leader's decision creates a lot of tension within the team, as then whoever is left out complains about being left out. So, why don't we let the system select 35 out of the 38 available players so that the matching takes place as quickly as possible? This can happen in several different ways.
The first scenario is that the system selects say 10 (or 20 or 50 or 100) random configurations of 35 players out of the 38 available and spawns 10 searches at once. As soon as any of the 10 searches results in a match the other 9 are automatically cancelled. This procedure obviously speeds up matching.
Alternatively, SC has probably determined through statistics which clan profiles are the most usual around and thus result in the quickest matches. So, the algorithm can scan the clan and exclude the players who are bound to cause difficulty to the algorithm. Such players might be, for example, a player much weaker than the others, or much stronger than the others, or a badly rushed base.
The added bonus to faster matches will be less complaining by players: if someone complains about being left out, the leadership will respond "The algorithm left you out, not us!"

Carry some responsibility
Leaders are "leaders" for a reason. They are the ones making choices and carrying the responsibility and consequences of a (bad) decision. A good leader can give reasons for his/her choices. Outsourcing decision making to the algorithm outsources responsibility of the leader. A leader with no power and no decisions to make is not a leader at all. Be a man and make justified player choices and carry the responsibility that belongs to a leader or co-leader.
