New Leagues as an incentive to keep/earn trophies
Currently, it seems that most CoC players do not really care about losing or earning trophies beyond getting a League bonus. I know that in the current League system, the top players can earn gems for having the most trophies, but for players who are no where near the top there is no real reason to want trophies.
What if every season you were placed in a group of 200 or so other randomly selected players? You could still ascend or descend through different leagues, but while staying with the same people, because right now who you are in a league with and your trophy count compared to theirs is meaningless. Technically this could means that you could be in a group with people who are in a different league.
The point is though, that at the end of each season the player(s) who have earned the most trophies in their group since the start of the season gets a reward. This reward could be resources, or more simply, gems. The gem reward could be constant, something like 100 or 200 gems, or it could be relative to how many trophies were earned. This addition could be a reason to care about trophies.
Anybody who is able to summarize this idea in a more organized manner should do so.
