Question to those pushing to Titan

Hi guys,

I'm currenty trying to push to Titan. I reached 3950 but it looks like I'm in front of a blocking point. All bases I'm being proposed are +1/-39 trophy offers.

I was wondering how you guys did push to Titan. Have you been attacking LOTS of bases for +1 tr at a time in order to reach Titan, or nexting continuously until you found some more attractive trophy offer ?

I'm counting and have now been nexting around 600x since this morning looking for any base offering at least 6 cups (knowing I will probably end up with 2* so 4 cups taken)... Couldn't even find one.

Or have you been relying on defense ?

When i started pushing to 4000 cups, it was very easy until the 3700, enough bases to raid with rather good offers.. But at the point on which you are on right now, it became way harder to find opponents! The only way to get through it is keep pushing, and attack every townhall snipe, and when you are lucky you can get the 20 or 30+ cups! But it is just a matter of perseverance...
And something about defense, just put your townhall outside, you will get attacked instantly but almost always for minus 1 cup, always better than -15 from a two star! If you are a maxxed base with zapps walls then it might help to but your townhall inside!

You're at the black hole of cup offers. It's not nice.

Try reloading your game after every few nexts, is slightly more likely to turn up an average to good (12-20) offer within first couple nexts of a fresh search.

Yes I'm full maxed with full zapps... but still the chances of getting a successful def are quite minimaln this game makes it too easy to get a 1*. Last time I have been attacked by a guy at 4750. He attacked me with full drags 5, surounding my base (after taking one ad down using lightning). The guy was clearly aiming at 50%, did 45% with the drag and got the additional ones with heroes. Honestly, I really find there is something broken in this game if this is how you can reach 4750 cups. This type of attack really doesn't require any skill at all !

Don't worry. Try this:

Klick on a members name in clan chat, klick the home button on your iPhone or whatever button/ soft button it is on your current device, then klick immediately "Visit".

That way you leave the game within a process and the game will refresh/ reload.

There is a few seconds delay before you are shoved into MM, but you can just change language. This reloads the game instantly and thus finds a new search queue.

It's also the cause of all the confusion as to why people think different language settings get different loot at different times of day. They don't.

Although this does not take any skill, it requires a ton of gems, which in the eyes of supercell is great offcourse, but for you not so great unfortunately... Any normal player who plays without spending so many gems will try for a two star and those might fail! I see that you surpassed the blockade because you are at 3963 now haha, did you find good cup offers suddenly?

Im in Titan 2 now. Highest was 46++ cup

I didnt rely on defence at all. Up there, no matter what base u use, youre gonna get 1/2 star anyway. Best thing is, you learn from the elites. You will see very strange strategies like 4 jump 6 golem and they can 2 star u easily so u kinda learn from it.

While pushing u cannot afford to loose and every base u come across, you have probably attacked it many times already so every bases u attacked u will know its weakness.

Dont just focus on pushing, practice. Learn how to attack every base. Over the time the next thing you know when you start a war and u look at your opponent's top bases you will be like "yawn boring, i eat this base all the time for breakfast" then you become very good at attacking typically any TH10 base.

Back to your question,
i made my push to titan solely from attacking. I will remain online the entire day and search for opponents. At times i get pretty lucky to find 20-30 cup offers. Sometimes 50+ cup offers if you come across Titan 1 players who was unlucky enough to get disconnected half way. Pushing has a certain timing where u will get pretty good cup offers (depending on your country). I live in asia so the best timing to raid is in the early noon 11am-2pm and after mid night around 1-2am.

When you are pushing u cant afford to lose. It can get very frustrating sometimes but remember one thing, every lose is a lesson and u only get better. Enjoy the push and be patient. At the end of the day, you are just pushing and chasing after something that is virtually useless. You dont get any price or monetary gain for reaching the top. Yes its a good personal achievement to have and show off your titan badge to your mates but at the end of the day, no one cares. Enjoy the game the way it is and always get better at it.

Yep, the ocean of ones. Next, next, next, next, next...

Expect 20-30min searches as the norm. Go on 9-12+ cup offers, just hit next until you find one. As you get higher you may have to settle for 6-9. This will continue until about 4200-4400. Unfortunately, it's actually better than it is later.

The good thing is, your army is training the whole time. You can hop out if you want, but it resets everything. Most of your search time is added to training time. I don't leave it unless it's a snipe or attack. I often have an army waiting for me when I return.

tip, you can leave your TH exposed right into 4200. You will get 95-99% -1 or so snipes. This lets you hop out anytime you want and still advance in cups.

LOL... No, I updated my initial post as it was 3950, not 3750... I did make a few trophies, but still have to next like 300x for finding a valid cup offer.

Regarding defenses, I have the advantage of being full maxed, meaning my mines and pumps are filling in. Most of the time I offer 1m loot for each resources. This helps as some people will try to attack me for the loot and fail (I had a def with a guy trying to suround my base and get all loot +50% with 5 golems... he failed at 45%), but also means putting my TH outside is impossible, as people will take the TH and still go for the loot afterwards.

I'm pushing with 6 golems 3 jumps... I'm not afraid too much about raiding about any base, I didn't fail with this army since I started my push (I sometimes fail in the sense I only get 1* where I could have taken 2*, but still get a few cups). The only drawback of this compo is that I have to avoid most bases with both infernos set to mono.

4 jumps is better IMO because alot of high cup bases are wide square base with all the buildings inside together. and u can spawn your golems on 3 sides to be safer and get the sure 1 star incase they wonder off.

Yes. It's why I'm not a massive fan of mass golem mass jump, because of the 3 entry points required. 3 jumps there + 1 for core ensures a near perfect funnel. But it's nearly all your spells gone.

Does make 2 multi infernos very easy though. I'll find out what the average inferno settings are soon enough, nothing left to do in couple days.

I finally made it to Titan, currently at 4122 tr.

How did you guys manage to get higher ? Should I continue to next until I can find a bigger trophy offer ? At what tr point did you switch to attacking for 1 tr ?

I've never attacked 1 cuppers mate. No point unless you're gemming armies.

Might settle for a 3-6 if lower TH or break kick coming, other than that not worth it. You'll find 15-50 eventually.

OK thanks... I currently attack as soon as I find a 6+ trophy offer (2* means 4 tr). Sometimes need to search for a while already before finding those.

I'm ofter getting attacked by people way above me for 1 tr with full armies, so I guess there might be a point at which you need to switch or you will search forever, but good to know you reached 4300+ without having to rely on 1tr offers ;-)

Clanmate has reached 4600+, and he doesn't take 1s.

Just keep looking, and eventually they show, depending on time of day.

He is back down at 4200 now, and had 5 40+ offers in last 2 days.

1s just aren't worth it. Half hour boosted cook, hit a 1, another boosted half hour cook, is only 2 trophies in an hour.

If it ends up taking 3-4 hours to find a whale, still more than the 7-9 cups would've picked up from 1s.

Been pushing for a couple weeks now and around 4000 it's really painful. I've just accidentally skipped a Titan base with 45 cups because I was so used to press Next! fml

LOL... Didn't happen to me but I did lose some 33 tr in a raid after I had been searching for 1h30, being so stressed about it I just completely failed my raid. Anyway that happens... I like to say I never fail, either I win or I learn ;-)

Is there a point where you start seeing more Titan bases? I seem to only get Champion 3 offers and these don't offer reasonable cups.

If there is a point I didn't reach it yet. I sometimes find a bigger trophy offer, but not really consistently, most of the bases I'm being presented are champ 3 players with 1 tr.

I didn't take +1 offers until 4800ish. +10 until 4700, +6 from 4700-4800ish. +1 progression is painful yet less stressful because you know you only need 1*. 4850+ is when my attacks were cleanest because I was the least stressed (as backwards as that sounds)

Do the attacker and defender bases affect the number of trophies offered? A Titan with 200 more cups than me was able to snipe my TH with level 10 heroes for 4 cups. Why not 1 cup? He was a barely levelled TH9.

Trophy difference between attacker and defender determine trophy offer.

Nothing else.

You have more trophies than person you attack? Smaller offer.
Have less than person you attack? Bigger offer. All there is to it.

You might get snipes by a th3 that's 600 above you for a -1.
You might get 3 starred by a max royal th10 600 trophies below you for a -59.

That's it, no mystery, nothing to do with relative strength. Only relative trophies.

So that guy was offered 12 cups for a base 200 trophies below his? Seems a lot, I get offered Champion 3 bases all the time and all they offer is 1 cup.

There you go. You have to realise, that even in farm ranges, majority of bases offered are your own trophy level at best, mostly lower.

30 cups offered for 3* is a base about your own trophies, then think how rare that is above champ 3.

Is there a particular time of day which is usually better?

I agreed with this theory and told someone else this in another thread... but last couple of sessions have been so dire, that I have ended up hitting +1s, and I'm only at 4000. I am TH9, so only get 1* which changes the arithmetic a bit. But today I got +8 from a +24 very early (gonna be a good session!), then +3 from a +9 after another hour or so (still making progress!) and that was it. I never saw another target from which I would earn more than 1 trophy until I got kicked off. Ended up hitting 4 or 5 easy +1s and a few +1 snipes.

And my last defence was a -19 1* to someone in low champ 3. The one before that a -20 3* to someone just above me (a better offer than I'd seen all session)

Errrr, kind of.

I'm in the UK, so I base my times from there. Sadly, I'm usually not able to put many sessions in when I find the best cups, but I'll share my findings, and you can get the world clock out and adjust.

Absolute best window: between 12am and 2am. Don't know whether it's Americans clouding all day at work, UK bedtime or what, but I consider this the cup golden 'hour'.

Pretty good: 4-6pm. Fairly often see some good cups appear.

Absolutely AWFUL: 7pm-12am. Sadly, when I'm most likely to be able to put a session in. Horrific. Very rarely see any sensible offer within the entirety of those 5 hours.

There you go, enjoy. Always changeable, but I've found those times to be reasonably consistent in bad or good in well over 1.5 years of periodic pushing.

Ps: weekends suck in general, AWFUL AWFUL if it's season end weekend.

Damn, the closer I get to Titan the more cups I seem to offer. Went from constant -1 to constant -2 to -4, this is getting very stressful. Just been raided for 2 so I have 11 cups to go now, having found no base today at all, just a dozen snipes.

Thanks for the advice. I'm also in UK, so I think I can manage the time adjustment ;-)
I've noticed late afternoon working once or twice. I can't say I've really tried until 2am - past midnight yes, but I tend to be winding down at the end of a session - if I've used troops, I won't boost to get more and might just look for snipes a bit.

I'll try and play later one day and see what happens. It feels like I'm finding it harder than others, but can't figure out why. I've been checking back on Wishmaster's thread:

and it's like we're playing a different game. Talk of whale offers with TH outside for 2*; never boosting; just doing short sessions when pressed for time (it's taken me 4 hours to recoup my defence lost last couple of times); and a comment later about a 49%, but being OK with it since it was a maxed TH10 - as if there was any other sort of target.

I had assumed this; I had a week shield running up to the weekend before season end due to needing to visit real life that week. I was figuring that weekend would be nasty, and if I could hang in there over the weekend, then last week would be better. I actually made hard, but steady progress over the weekend: +30 or +40 net profit each session IIRC, and was looking forward to the possibility of it getting easier. It didn't. Monday was worse, and it's basically deteriorated every day since.

It is just that random. You can have 2 clanmates, similar trophies, searching same times of day, and one of them might be getting consistently better offers the whole week.

That's frustrating.

It's mostly dedication and addiction. On second thought, addiction mainly....

Im currently a TH 10 exp 143...Maxed with lavas and near maxed Heros..queen(40) king(38)

How to push to Titan...that's a loaded question...based on a bunch of variables...hero strength, base strength, TH level, and Base layout...
personally...I relied on BOTH Defense and Offense to push through...and I realize there are guys that answered this thread saying it doesn't matter what base you have and to just put your TH outside...not true.
Offense-
yeah...cup offers are scarce, but you do run into a few good ones...my best 2 star was 40+ cup pickup... On average 6-16 cups is normal...but on a daily bases I was able to find one or several 25-35+ cup offers...it really depends on the day of the week...as weekends are tough with everyone being on...
Defense-
probably the Absolute best Cup pickups you can get on a regular basis...from 16-40+ cups every time with 30 cups being minimum average..
if I can't get the Defensive troops I need right away...the best option to keep what you got is to put the TH on the outside...but that can bite you big time and lose big cups if the right player searches you out...however, most of the Time you only lose 1 or 2 cups... So the Gamble is worth it..and odds are most of the guys in Titan will find you as they are constantly looking..verses the guys in Masters or Champs that simply find more opportunities...

Heres a Tip...you mentioned "nexting" 600 times...
...try stopping and starting again...once you do that it does help as I noticed the best Cup offers always seemed to pop up at the beginning of a search...can't explain why...just something I noticed...

things change once once you get into Titan though....that trick won't work as well...and you'll find yourself "nexting" again as there are much less peeps in Titan than there are in Champs...

Broke my shield to skip while watching Match of The Day, after 40 mins I get a Titan base with TH outside and 34 cups offer. I needed 11 cups so the snipe was enough to get me to Titan, went for 2 stars, got my 23 cups and shiny new badge :)
Tomorrow I can enjoy a relaxing Sunday at last!

You're so right about random. Very weird.
All week I've been consistently getting 6-8 snipes in a full session; basically all +1s, maybe a +2. Last couple of sessions I only scrounged +25 or so hitting everything I could including several genuine +1 attacks. And my last defences were -20, -19

Today... only twice did I see any sort of real offer on a normal target (+12-ish; I would get +4) but both times I had part troops, so couldn't do anything. On the other hand I got:
+8 for a TH8
+1 for a full attack on a champ 3
+7 for picking up the second star on some 3-5 offer snipes
and +30 for THIRTY different small snipes.
It's like the entire of champ 3 took the day off, and left their bases to be attacked. And then I got a -1 on defence from some nice chap in Titan -1. So different!

I understand there is a formula but that formula really sucks in Titan. I got sniped for 7 cups by a guy higher than me, that takes a while to get back when finding a base takes hours. I'm not sure why people stay up here, it's getting pretty non enjoyable.

I've managed to push to 4800 and boy it was bat ♥♥♥♥ crazy.

You just need to preserve and don't give up.

One tip i could give you is, try to find out the best time to trophy push. I was living in Asia so the best time for me was either 7am GMT +8 or 11am GMT +8 then the second session would be at around 10pm GMT +8.

Agree, it's really about not giving up. I had some bad days when I really wanted to give up after a fail giving me -35 followed by a def at -25, but I managed to get those trophies back. I'm now at 4511.

I don't think I will continue to push a lot more anyway with the update coming. I'll probably drop back to 4100 and farm those 25 new walls. I also guess big update at ClashCon will make it even more difficult to push for non-gemmers as top players will build new defs instantly, while I will need a few weeks/months to catch up... so that's quite some bases I won't be able to raid anymore...
