Collectors and mines outside is a good plan. Keeps your defenses close together and better protecting each other, reducing risk of getting 3 starred.

army camps always go outside. collectors do too unless you are town hall lvl 8 or 9. storages outside walls is absolutely crazy, unless you are flat broke.
