Midwest Minions strategy thread is for all to participate. All opinions and facts of good intentions are valued.
Reason for starting this thread: We needed a place to discuss strategy and other clan topics without burying our war discussion & requests in clan chat.

The first subject we need to discuss is walls. The pros & cons. This is a big source of disagreement in our clan. Everyone hates dumping their rescources into them and how necessary is it to max them out before moving to a higher th?
I think it depends on the TH lvl, 7 and below should max out before moving up. TH 8 should have no less than 1 below max, then TH9 plus, I would put at personal preference - within reason.
After getting caught up in the max upgrade of walls before moving up to a TH9 I can see the the advantages and disadvantages.Quote:

i will also say that wall upgrades can become distracting. Once you start it's hard to move on. I keep telling myself one more section and I'll move on, but then start another section.
Not part of Midwest minions, but I'd like to voice my opinion.
Anything below th9 should be maxed. After skulls, the attackers need to plan their attacks a bit more. Also, if you go 8.5 or 9.5, the extra gold can be dumped into a reasonable cause.

High lvl walls make a huge difference on the type of armies and planning involved in attacking a base. I recommend maxing at every lvl, as you progress through the game. The thing is. It is such a grind and pain to knock them out. Once you fall behind, it is that much harder to catch them up. If you have any intention of having a high lvl war base that only a max TH10 can touch, you need high level walls. If that's not your goal, then there can be some debate as to how far to go with it.
Walls can be a real painful process if not upgrading through your progression in the game. If you are a farmer one lvl maybe two lvls below max depending on th lvl should be your goal. If you are war monger i would suggest maxing out your walls before moving on. Maxing out your walls takes time and patience in the end I believe it's worth it. Plus a base with maxed out walls looks Bad A$$. Clash On Peeps
Once walls are at lvl 9, most attackers seem to favor using lavaloonion of late, which negates walls altogether. If they are using ground troops, they can throw a jump spell or two, in the mix. Also now people are bringing a handful of earthquakes into things. Hence why I think at that lvl upwards, it's more of a personal choice, weighing the cost verses benefit, for what you're looking to achieve.
This is actually the reason why, as a war monger, I recommend max level walls. LaLoon and GoHo are complex surgical attacks when you are dealing with high lvl defenses. 4 EQ spells, leaves only 2 spell slots to play with. A Jump spell will get you into the core, but not out of it. If I see purple and pink walls, I can look at the base and use any ground based army that I want because I know my troops can bash down those walls. Skull walls a lil trickier, but still can get through using gowipe with side hogs. Lvl9 and up necessitate the use of hybrid armies and other popular "3 Star" compositions. All of which take a tremendous amount of skill and planning to use.Quote:

I personally prefer this forum. Specifically looking for clan mates. We have gained small mergers of other clans. Groups of friends/families and individuals. Mergers are a little complicated due to the fact they come with a few players you would normally pass on and classmates comfort lvl of that many new players at once is touchy.
I also dislike recruiting on global chat. Feels like a waste of time. It is fun to visit and straighten out Ethugs(cyber bullies).
Any input or recommendations???
I think this also depends on where you are as a clan. If you have 20+ members that are stable (been with you for a month or more) then you can start to avoid global chat.Quote:

I prefer the forums here as well, but it seems like a blood-bath of people posting the entire contents of their recruiting threads on those that are looking for a clan without even bothering to look at the OP.
I think you can use the same method in both places. Start by talking to people. The ones in global who introduce themselves by chatting "Clan" or "send invites" aren't worth your time. The same thing can hold true here as well. You should probably avoid the threads with no details. I prefer to PM the poster since they see the notification when they log in and there's no guarantee that they subscribed to their own thread :)

This is a public forum. Please discuss your in clan organisation amongst yourselves, either in the groups section of this forum, or in a chat app such as groupme or kick.
If your intentions are to get the forums general advice on a topic, you can start a thread asking a specific question without limiting it to discussion about just your clan.
