I'm going to be going to th9.5 soon and I only have th8 maxed defenses and I was just wondering if I can still upgrade my defenses and max them at th9 maxed lvl without it putting me down as a th10 and can I upgrade my troop camps and spell factory without it seeing me as a th10 plz be honest
leave your defenses and just do troops, camps, spell factory and heroes
Okay but could I if I wanted to without changing anything?

Well I'm at number 4 on the map anyway
And we have 5 th9's in our clan and we only do 10vs10 wars
I wouldn't really recommend being a 9.5 if you have <8 TH 10s, but it is all personal preference
If you go to TH9.5 be prepared to get 100% 3-starred by other TH10s in every war and every defence log. They will be able to steal 400,000 gold/elixir from you each raid. Not to mention the 3,000 Dark Elixir. And to top it off, it'd be like a TH10 attacking a TH8. For all that loot. TH10s get a 50% loot penalty when they attack TH8s so they can't pick on weaker players, but you are going to be practically handing it to them on a plate. Not to mention you will struggle to attack TH10s and you will no longer be able to pick on TH8s yourself.

Yeah, I'd say that's a risky business if you're that high on the running order.
4/10 on the map needs to defend to less than 3 stars, in my opinion. But then, I'm no massive war or engineering expert.
