I screwed up. I focused solely on defense and offense to start letting heros lag. Then it became a huge came of catchup. My queen in going to 25 and my king is at 21 I believe. Walls about half.half lego and lava. From the looks of things it should be about even in the end, possibly heros first. Downside is lots and lots of sleeping builders. The leaf blowers did slow down my wall production a bunch. I focus solely on dark and let gold/lix come as it does. I am OK with this. If my heros finish first I will just donate a lot of high end DE troops to the clan while I finish the walls. I am no rush at all to upgrade to TH10. I love the variety of TH9 attacks.

I made a spreadsheet about the upgrade patterns that I'll do in my early TH9 and unfortunately dumped it before i can follow it lol
Ok, it took about 6 months or so to max defense buildings only if you use 4 builders going non stop on them only. It's a pretty solid estimation time if compared to walls and heroes.
If you like it to be balanced and be a fully maxed TH9 at the same time, I recommend you to spare 1 builder to focus on wall, 2 builders for heroes, and another 2 builders for defenses. Good luck there.

All you need to know is raid for dark elixir from the start. Don't worry about gold and elixir. They will stack up then u can drop some on walls or a defense. Im on the hero wall grind right now... Its boring as all hell. Thanks jeezus for clan wars. If u become a maxed defense th9 with low heroes not only does your farming suffer, but your just a liability in wars. Trust me you will loath life if you dont take this advice.

TH9 has big and long upgrades for walls and heroes. My advise to new TH9:
Stage 1) First few weeks, priority in order: elixir, DE and gold
- Upgrade those essentials first, in order: lab, spell facs, CC, army camps
- Follow by quite essential: DE drill
- Heroes upgrade, whenever sufficient DE
- Then, x-bows, the rest of defenses.
Stage 2) Once the basics are done, priority in following order: DE, gold/elixir
- Priority are heroes.
- Follow by defense buildings
- Follow by walls to dump extra resources when not needed.
It's up to you to keep a builder free or not. The point is, when farming, priority is to hunt DE.
e.g. If you see a base with 250k/250k but 100 DE, skip it once you reach stage #2.
If you see a base with 100k/100k or less, but >2k DE, attack it.
This will take your journey through max TH9 longer, but it will balance up your heroes vs defenses.
High level walls are useful, but not that important, the intimidation factor drops once you face other TH9/TH10.
